almost 5 years ago | Hi When mapping a path along the side of a road, it is a special case. Instead of just highway=footway, highway=footway and footway=sidewalk should be used. Otherwise the implication is that it is, for example a pedestrian lane or path across a green space or the like. You might have a look at highway=footway Be careful in adding access=no, as it suggests nothing is allowed access it, e.g. there is sinkhole or minefield. While foot=designated creates an except to the access=no, it might create a conflict with some route planners. osm.wiki/w/index.php?title=Tag:access%3Ddesignated&uselang=en-GB
almost 5 years ago | Hi, this looks like a relation gone wrong. relation/8064782
| 90076176 | almost 5 years ago | Hi, relation/11554498
These two are both tagged amenity=townhall. Would you know which is correct? |
almost 5 years ago | Hi, It's old, but you have access=one way / two way Should it be one-way northbound?
almost 5 years ago | Will send you a message.
almost 5 years ago | There's no 'wrong way' to do things, just certain things that make things complicated and ambiguous. One thing is that we are mapping using lines (ways) of objects that have areas. The piece of footway on the traffic island and the roadway were one on top of the other on Templeogue Road and Templeville Road, so I just moved a single node on each. If you take a look at this junction osm.org/#map=19/53.32173/-6.26628 each traffic island and flow of traffic is given it's own way, which is probably over-mapping the junction.
almost 5 years ago | Hi, Does this section of road actually exist? way/40798427
almost 5 years ago | Talking to another user, he thinks I've been wrong on accepting the advice of the iD Checker and they have raised the issue with the Checker manager. We had unwittingly been engaged in an edit war for almost a year. :D
almost 5 years ago | \o/ Yay!
almost 5 years ago | Hi, I had no idea we were engaged in an edit war about Tesco Express. :)
almost 5 years ago | Hi, node/8298371070#map=19/53.31422/-6.20340 Could I just check. This substation. How big is it? Would it be somewhere around the size of car, a domestic garage or a house? Did you see any markings like "Elm Park 38kV" or "748721X"? Thank you
almost 5 years ago | Hi, You have marked this as private. However, there are 5-7 houses on it. This would seem to be an inconsistency.
almost 5 years ago | Hi Could you check the tagging here: way/720914899 ?
almost 5 years ago | Hi, Would this be better as amenity=social_facility ?
almost 5 years ago | Hi, node/320226836#map=17/54.92837/-7.19628 This is showing as a 'near junction'. Is it still usuable?
almost 5 years ago | Hi, This stream way/330947442#map=16/52.8349/-6.9750 and adjacent ways have the tag FIXME=Incomplete Can this be removed?
about 5 years ago | Hi, Welcome to OSM. I see that you have been making quite a few changes. It might be better to restrict change sets ('saves') to smaller geographic areas and/or single topics. Could I ask what this line represents? osm.org/edit?way=773119702
about 5 years ago | Duplicate deleted.
about 5 years ago | It is consistent with the wikipedia page, which has a photo. It's in the style of a tower house. Appears to have modern renovations. Note shadow is much longer than adjacent houses. As to whether it is a tower or a castle is arguable. I think it's more than a tower.
