My apologies, that's a holdover from the original data and shouldn't have made it through to the upload. The intention is to have each address as individual nodes rather than using interpolations.

Part of my work flow is to filter for those tags but I seem to have missed a few and even completely forgot at some point. I will go back and take care if them. Thank you for pointing it out.

The "St. " in St. John's in fact correct and not to be expanded.

This area is covered in grass. I hindsight, the appropriate tag would be surface=grass but this was from a time when I was new to OSM.

I didn't want to commit to adding this level of detail to the entire city. I was using it like a personal testing ground for different tags and methods.
