over 3 years ago | Good afternoon Erwin, The locally spoken languages in Tagakpan are Bisaya and Klata. Anyone conversing in either of them uses the term Barangay Hall. This is also the name that is written on the facade of the building. Adding additional non-local translations seems fine, but please don't replace the primary name tag.
over 3 years ago | Currently all HUCs and ICCs with mapped boundaries are tagged as admin_level=6. But giving this some further considerations I actually think there are many good reasons why it would make sense to tag them as admin_level=4. R.A. 7160 Section 25 effectively defines HUCs and ICCs as first level subdivisons on equal level with provinces.
over 3 years ago | Thanks for pointing this out! The commonly stated phrase that only motorways have implied access restrictions really doesn't seem to hold up.
almost 4 years ago | Hey Jherome. Thanks for this massive clean-up. Just wondering, isn't foot=yes and bicycle=yes the default for anything other than motorways? Adding this tags seems highly redundant, especially for highway segments that already have sidewalk or cycleway tags.
about 4 years ago | Hi Abysmallow, welcome to OpenStreetMap and thank you for your contributions! The tag place=town is only used for municipalities, for barangays you can use place=village. If you'd like to learn more about the basics of tagging you could have a look at this overview of guidelines by the local community: osm.wiki/Philippines/Mapping_conventions Happy mapping =)
about 4 years ago | Hi Marliza, welcome to OpenStreetMap and thank you for your contributions! When mapping barangays you can just create a node (like this one: node/9215197632) near the center of the barangay. If you'd like to learn more about the basics of tagging you could have a look at this overview of guidelines by the local community:
about 4 years ago | Good day vulasala, thanks for catching this!
about 4 years ago | I'm a bit confused by your suggestion. This is not a singular feature that could be represented by a node. Piedra Tuff just means tuff stone which describes the unexposed bedrock that makes up this entire peninsula. I'm not aware of any tags to store such information and I also don't think it's within the scope of OSM to map what's below the visible landuse=* or natural=*.
about 4 years ago | Not just maybe. This was clearly a description of the underlying bedrock which is tuffaceous indeed (limestone to be more precise).
about 4 years ago | Hello Bryan. If a settlement already has a place node there's no need to add a place tag and the duplicated name to the outline of the settlement. You can just use landuse=residential instead. Also please have a look at the page about the ford tag on OSM wiki. This tag should only be applied where a road crosses a waterway. Here you added the tag on a 10 km long section of highway.
about 4 years ago | Hi thota_shruthi. When modifying street names please make sure to do so along the whole length and not just for a single segment. Thanks and keep up the good work!
over 4 years ago | Good day. Just curious, what source did you use when adding this oneway restriction?
over 4 years ago | Good day. What is your source for this name change? KartaView does not have any available imagery in this area.
over 4 years ago | Good day. What is your source for removing access restrictions in Ayala Alabang? Any road that requires individual permission should be tagged as private. Also if you're modifying access restrictions please make sure to do so on the entire length of a road. Here you missed several shorter segments and bridges (e.g. way/759516992, way/363300512).
over 4 years ago | Hello justsanna. Welcome to OpenStreetMap and thank you for your contributions. The farmland tag is usually only used for crops like rice or corn. For coconut plantations you can use landuse=orchard + trees=coconut_palms. No need to add a name in addition to that. Feel free to join some of the local community channels if you have any questions about how to map certain things.

over 4 years ago | Good day. Please put this undiscussed import on hold and have a look at the guidelines that the OSM community has laid out for such endeavours. While it is much easier and faster to just copy data from google maps than to survey it yourself, this goes against many core principles of OSM. If you are willing to work together with the local community in cleaning up this import please send an email to [email protected]. osm.wiki/Import/Guidelines and contact the
over 4 years ago | Hello jsykioco. Welcome to OpenStreetMap and thank you for your contributions. Please have another look at the task instructions. For adding new buildings from aerial imagery you should draw their outline and then select the building feature (not the guest house feature). For existing objects like buildings or schools you don't need to add any additional features. You also don't have to add generic names like "Property". But if you have personal knowledge about the actual name of a building you can always add that. Happy mapping!
| 98769698 | over 4 years ago | Hi Manish. Thanks for reviewing this. Keep up the great work! Best,

over 4 years ago | Hello. I reverted your recent edits in Davao del Sur as there were many quality issues. Davao-Gensan Highway does not have phisically separated carriageways. There are no fords along it. The parallel pedestrians streets that you added do not exist, some of this sections don't even have sidewalks. Further the names that you added are not found on any signs nor in official documents and are also not used locally. Kindly review the OSM wiki for the meaning of tags and for guidance on when and how to use them. And as mentioned previously, please provide meaningful changeset comments and sources when uploading edits.
