My first project was city "Brugg" using TomTom Go710 car navi with TripMaster v1.8 to track routes. Later I used to track with TTTracklog (launched in TomTom Linux console) because it's faster and more reliable.
Meantime I'm using my own MapServer or public WMS servers.
To track routes outside my canton I normally use my smartphone (Sony Ericsson Xperia X1 with NoniGPSPlot or HTC 7 Trophy with Outdoor Navigator).
