I think I found the change-set with most if not all of the problem names.

Hello Andy, a little blast from the past. 😅
Yea this was back when I was brand new and didn't know better.

There is good and bad news, but luckily mostly good.

So the good news is the only “google” stuff is the town names, the rest was from bing aerial imagery in JOSM. So the only things that will need to be removed are town names.

The second good news is
The names of the towns in Mexico are from http://gaia.inegi.org.mx/mdm6/
Which is open source and should meet the OSM License requirements.

The bad news though is the Guatemala town names i added back then are from google though and will probably need to be removed unless another source can be found.

The last piece of good news is there should only be a couple dozen towns like this and they are all contained to this area in the south eastern corner of Chiapas and just across the border in Guatemala luckily somebody noticed and informed me of my mistake pretty early on so I stopped early and I did my best to correct it.

What would be the best way to move forward? If you would like I can go through and delete the names on the Guatemala Side of the border that I added.

I do want to emphasize that the only questionable things in these change sets are the town names, everything else I 100% stand behind as being correctly added in accordance with the OSM's rules. (ie. tracing off of aerial imagery in JOSM)

As best I can tell it is open source coming from the NYC government.

Please tell me if I messed anything up. I know we try hard not to take data from sources that are not liscence to do so.

Also I just double checked the place where you put the Balimo airport in this changeset is not where it is actually located.

In this changeset you outlined areas that seem to be a town and labeled them as airdrome=airport. The town of Balimo. I am going to fix it, but double check your changes residential areas should really be landuse=residential.

I took away the tags I don't know where they came from.

Yea I'm on iPhone I love gomap!! It works great but JOSM is obviously more capable. I really love JOSM too but for about 4 months now it has had issues with the 2 finger swipe on mac. I hope they get it sorted out soon because it really slows down mapping and it is really annoying. I love JOSM but sometimes these little bugs percist for way to long. Part of the problem is sometimes it is an underlying problem with java.

Yea JOSM Has been being really annoying to work lately. The right click function is all screwed up on mac. If they are not on the adjacent us route 89 segments then we can go ahead and get rid of them. If you want to do it go ahead i don't have very much access to WIfi right now until I get back from work tomorrow and I don't feel like trying to do it on gomap!! If you don't do it I'll get around to it in a couple days when I have some wifi. Thanks for pointing this out.

I just copied the tags from the route US 89 that was already there. I usually don't want to mess with other people's stuff if I don't know why a tag is there.

This data is incorrect and low quality please put more effort into these contributions.

A lot of these relations seem to be piled up on top of one another. I just found two natural=wood relations that were duplicated on top of one another

Decent edit, but you did not add that it was a road that you mapped, thanks for adding it though. I am going to clean it up and add highway tertiary
