| New MapRoulette Challenge: Ways Needing Smoothing | Very interesting. How would I go about in creating MapRoulette challenges for a totally different area? Specifically thinking of my Mapping Botswana project here… |
| vespucci 0.9.4 available on google play store | Many thanks for this. For the next release maybe I’ll have finished the Icelandic translation! |
| SME.sk displays presidential election results on OpenStreetMap | Don’t think it is surprising as it is free to use. The stranger thing for me is that the colored bubbles are in the color of a narrow winner, does that mean they get all the votes from that district (first past the post) or is it just the combined votes all over country that make sure who gets to the second round? The huge Bratislava circle for example show very narrow margin for the winner. |

| Mapping Botswana via Facebook | Very true Nakaner, I intend to create a guide related to the Mapping Botswana project which details the editors, both on mobile and PC, online and offline. |
| Happy 9th birthday, this is my contribution | Very true Joost, only now we have some better imagery for the newest areas so I have some work there to tweak buildings and paths. The Never-ending Task |
| I suddenly can't edit wtih Firefox; has something changed? | JOSM is a standalone Java editor, the most powerful of them all. If you have JOSM open and click on the Edit with JOSM link it loads up the area in question in the JOSM editor. |

| community building | This looks great and the new neis-one service is awesome. Will try to emulate similar for Iceland and Botswana |
| First Day of Editing | Welcome and hopefully we never reach the red tape of English Wikipedia (my local one is much friendlier…) |
| Adding Mobile Money Agents to OSM | Agree, just decide which tag they should be filed under and then start to tag them. Easy enough to do tiles or POI search for them then. |
| MapBBCode: free maps for everyone | This looks fantastic! Looking forward to delving into it and test it out! |
| What is the OpenStreetMap convention? Do we tag addresses on buildings or on separate nodes? | The margin is probably wider. In Iceland we mark both the building way and add addr also to any shops for example within the building. This means that the shop entry by itself can stand alone and also by looking for a particular address you see the corresponding building, not the node for the hairdresser there as that might be confusing when you know your dentist is there (but his node is missing). Personally I understand nodes as addresses when dealing with multiple addresses in a single building complex, but for stand alone buildings a node makes no sense to me personally. |

| Artwork : only for tourists | Good point. Much left to do in making sense of what was arbitrary tagging that has since become the standard to use if you want default Mapnik to render it. |
| First buildings and addresses in New York City | Interesting. Are we able to create own projects on Task Manager yet? I am not useful for NYC but have two sparsely populated countries in mind. |
| Wad Medani streets | Nice work, a lot of Africa is undermapped, local knowledge incredibly important there! |
| How to add new Business | You are probably looking for either key:shop or key:office |
| Some more Android hackery for efficent mobile surveys | Interesting feature, was unaware mobile phones had a compass |
| Texas Farm to Market Roads, the end... | Congratulations! It’s the little things happening beyond the big cities that are vital to OSM and allow it to show just how vital it is to be crowd-sourced. |
| Using OSM on a phone Part 2 (plus a protoype) | Precisely what was bugging me on my BlackBerry Curve, until the latest update when the map just doesn’t load. I tried your page on the Curve, I would like to have some text next to the search box, when you click on “Just show me a map” you are not shown a map but a searchbox with no indicator of what goes in it. Just a simple “Enter name of location” would help tremendously. When I do get the map it is absolutely miniscule, the search box and white area around it takes half the screen and the map is about 50 pixels high if so. |
| GPSMash update - Support for NMEA import, data cleanup updates | Very interesting, nice visual output. Looks like something that could help me with introducing OSM to people, am about to finish mapping (buildings and their numbers, streets, sidewalks, paths) my hometown and want to present it with a bit of flair to show the work behind it (quite a few .gpx files used to help make it better) and to try and get official sources to release data for it (fire hydrants and other). If I do manage to do something with it I’ll let you know! |
