Let me just state that I will continue to map in a way that aligns both with PTv2 and PTv1 and that is in line with how things are mapped else where in France and that other mappers before me have mapped in Lyon.

If you have a problem with that please take it to the DWG

You speak about Part-Dieu Servient, but I have not touched any bus stop by that name. I did delete Servient - Liberté, because there was no longer any bus stop there. Are you arguing that it should have been kept?

A couple of observation about my other bus stop edits in this changeset:

1 I do not believe that they in any form break PTv2 or are in contrary to it.
2 I do believe they are more inline with how bus stops are mapped else where in France.
3 Just because a thing has been mapped in one way in the past doesn't mean it has to stay that way for ever, and to be frank, bus stop in general are not mapped right now in any consistent manner in Lyon. And there are older bus stops mapped by others that are mapped just like mine edits.
4 I don't see any problem with having two objects, one for the platform (if there is one) and one for the bus stop.

For me to respond meaningfully, you have to be more specific, where have I deleted what feature?

I've asked before and I'll ask again; is there a wikipage (or some other documentation) about how to the community in Lyon prefers to map? Just to be clear, I don't expect it to be in English.

I certainly didn't intend to criticize your person, but I did intend to criticize your actions. And I don't think you've so far responded to that criticism. Specifically the fact that you kept deleting data that I've added to the map that you considered "duplicates" and you did that without any kind of communication. I just noticed it by a chance.

I'll keep on improving the map and I'm open to discussion about different approaches

You are really something. First you delete stuff that I've added without a comment. Then you lie that I've deleted something you've mapped. When in fact the three pt=platform that I, in changeset/76297011, changed from way to node, were mapped originally by somebody else. All this so you can justify for yourself to go against how this are mapped elsewhere in France and to map against the ground truth verifiability principles of OSM[1]. Perhaps you should reflect whether you actually contribute positively to OSM or not.

>This should not factor in what method of mapping. For a while casinos where not displayed in "most maps", so should have they been tagged as tourism=attraction >to be displayed for the time ?

Yes, but hw=bus_stop is the older one and the one that is more used. Still many many years after its introduction, pt_platform it is not rendered. As I understand it because the word 'platform' is a poor choice to signify something that is actually a 'bus stop'.

When looking at the mapillary link, I can't find anything that would make it into a platform. The curb is raised, but so is the curb for a normal sidewalk. There is a bus lane, but that doesn't the make the adjacent sidewalk into a platform. Otherwise all sidewalks next to a bus lane would be platforms. And it is not possible to observe where the platform would begin and end.

I had a look at central Paris and I could not find a single bus stop that would have been mapped in this way. From now on I will map bus stops in the same way as in Paris. In the future if you find something lacking in my mapping I would appreciate it if you contact me first before removing any of my mappings

Ok, I understand, I won't be adding those those tags. Although I think that associatedStreet is an overly complicated way to add the addr:street info.

76235549 about 6 years ago

Hi, thanks for explaining, but I don't quite agree. For the first the corresponding bus stop across the street is mapped. Secondly just having a pt=plaform by the side of the road is not sufficient in my opinion. It doesn't render in most maps and when I visited the place I couldn't actual see any structure that could be called a platform, it was just a part of the sidewalk. And from a personal point of view, I'm using Osmand to find by way around Lyon, and if hw=bus_stop isn't added one can't really find the closest bus stop on the map

Hi

I've just noticed that you have been deleting stuff that I've added to the map. What is that all about? Is there some special rule about mapping in Lyon or what?

Toppen, tack

Hej
