Hi Hamdaway,
Welcome to OSM and thanks for contributing to the map in Ghana. There is only one issue with your addition. In OSM we don't use all uppercase for names but title case. The name of the fuel station should be Naa Gami Fuel Station and addr:city=Tamale.

Happy mapping!

Regards,
Sam

Hello Abdu Jalil,
Welcome to OpenStreetMap and thanks to contributing to the map in Ghana. As a new mapper you have a couple of mistakes in your changes but I have reviewed and corrected the ones I can.

Kindly pay attention to existing amenities/places before you add them. You added new nodes for places that already exist.

Also take note of the tags you use. Do not use tags if you don't completely understand them.

Hello Lesiakower, the Subway restaurant does not operate in Ghana. You can see the list of countries where they operate here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_with_Subway_restaurants#Africa

If there is a restaurant named Subway in Kumasi then it is not operated by the global Subway chain.

Kindly review the changes you've made. Thank you.

Sam

Hello Jenell, welcome to OpenStreetMap and thanks for contributing to the map in Ghana by adding buildings in your community.

You've done a good job with your first changeset but there are a few issues with the names you've added.

1. Names should not be all UPPER CASE but rather Capitalise the First Letters.
2. Names should be the true name of the place and not a description of the place type. E.g, Aboaso Church of Christ, God is Good Clinic but not just church, clinic, palace, etc.
NB: You can leave the name field blank if you don't know the exact name of the place.

Kindly review these when you map next time and I hope to see you add more places in your community to the map.

Happy mapping!

Regards,
Sam

Hi Kwabena Danso,
Welcome to OpenStreetMap and thanks for contributing to the map in Ghana. You are on the right path of having every feature of your community on the map: adding them yourself.

You may add the name of the village instead of having "Village" as name.

Happy mapping
Best,
Sam

Hello Benjamin, welcome to OpenStreetMap and thanks for contributing to the map in Ghana.
I can tell from your hashtags that you are part of KNUST YouthMappers.

I have a few remarks about your changeset:
1. I see that you have added arbitrary house numbers to the buildings. Please only add house numbers if you can see it added to a building.
2. You have also added building:levels and roof:levels to some buildings wrongly. Do well to understand the tags you use before you use them. If you don't know explicitly what they stand for please avoid them.
3. You also changed building types and other tags. My comment for no.2 stands. Don't use tags and values you don't know.

Every Door app gives you freedom to use tags but as a beginner I recommend you use StreetComplete [1] so that you don't make such mistakes.

I've been here before as a beginner, keep learning and keep mapping. Have a lovely day

Welcome to OpenStreetMap Richard, thanks for contributing to the map in Ghana.

In this edit I notice that you have changed a business/company to a school. What is the situation now? Does the business no longer exist or it has been converted to a school in the same premises?

If you are unsure about the status of the business it is better to map the school as a new object and revert the business to its former status.

Best,
Sam

Hello bibsandcrib, welcome to OpenStreetMap! I see you have added a node but it contains no information about what it represents. Single nodes like these need tags that describe which kind of place (city/town, shop, school, etc) it represents.

You can share what you want to add and I help you with that.

Hi Gabriel, welcome to OpenStreetMap and thanks for contributing to the map in Ghana.

There is a minor issue with your changeset which I'm going to address and fix. The area you added is a parking lot which your changeset comment confirms and not a park (think of Rattray Park). The parking lots have already been mapped. Also, I don't think the entire area you mapped will be grazed and used as a charging station.

Confirm the exact location that will be used as a charging station and if they've started working on the map it with the combination of charging station[1] tag and construction[2] tags.

1. amenity=charging_station
2. construction=*

Hello sadlygenius, thanks for contributing to OpenStreetMap in Ghana.

You added Blood Line Recording as a bank although the name suggest a recording studio. Kindly check this link and find the appropriate tags for BLR: amenity=studio

Also it's best to add the full name of the place in the name=* tag and add the acronym to short_name=*

Hello Harriet, thanks for contributing to the map in Ghana. There are issues with this changeset I'd want to highlight.

Your changeset comment should describe what you did and not a bunch of hashtags. Learn how to make good changeset comments here: osm.wiki/Good_changeset_comments

Secondly, you have so many buildings drawn on top of existing highways. Looking at Bing imagery the building footprints do not match the buildings in most places, you used Maxar however the difference shouldn't be this much.

Kindly take your time and contribute useful edits, the quality of contributions is more important than the quantity.

Hello PopeyePopcord, what is the source of these street names you are adding? These are not local names and quite alien compared to the existing street names.

119682742 over 3 years ago

Hello PopeyePopcord, you're making edits to a lot of street names in Accra including places/street names we have surveyed on the ground.

What data source are you using for these edits?

Hi Traynor_993_GEOG281 thanks for editing the map in Ghana. Please do not add description of buildings to the name tag. Only add the name of an object/building if you are 100% sure it's right.

Hi Richmond, thanks for editing the map in Ghana. It would be nice to add details about the school if you know the name and any other relevant information.

Also two of the buildings you mapped are crossing each other, kindly correct that by moving the building polygons.

Happy mapping!

I think you have placed it at the right location. I added it from the position of a note
