Today I am going to update my diary about the help of Mapillary photos to update my village roads. Because of canopy cover and poor resolution of Bing Imagery I missed these road before and now it’s on map. It’s a 10 minutes demo.

I got a task to collect sample for my ongoing project (Cartago, Colombia) and I found that it might be helpful for OSM mapper. In JOSM we can get many TMS, WMS service, also we can use very high resolution satellite image after processing. But here I’m mentioning about the very useful plugin for JOSM called PicLayer. Using this plugin we can import simple jpeg image and we can calibrate. After doing few adjustment of the image it is working superb and solve my problem. Any one can try this!

I am doing mapping in osm science 2015 and I started doing mapping of my [village and surrounding areas] (osm.org/#map=16/22.1680/87.9135). It is a great experience to see my village on map. Here we can see the [temporal changes] (http://osm-analytics.org/#/compare/polygon:kffwOcrcfCesOnrAscA%7DuMlwOs%7C%40/2015…now/buildings) from 2015 to present for buildings and roads.

It is very interesting to use ID editor for open street map editing. it is also time saving smart tool for open street map. Tagging is very easy and visible for this. I made some buildings and roads for Haldia township which was not there previously and edit some area category. This township is selected to build a “smart city”. This township is known for mainly industrial activity like IOC (Indian oil corporation), HP(Hindusthan petroleum), HFCL(Hindustan fertilizer corporation limited) , BPCL(Bharat petroleum corporation limited) etc these are the main industrial zone is this area and buildings are most of there residential quarters. There is one port also which is mainly give a support for Kolkata port.
