Hey Elliott, Did you mean to remove both the address and building tags or was that OsmAnd Maps? I see the building is for lease. Thanks and Happy Mapping, RoadGeek_MD99

Hi Amuppidi,

I noticed you added way/960213544, a jug handle from MD 32 SB to Dayton. Sorry to say, but I had to delete this, as the new construction of southbound MD 32 has erased this ramp. You can see this in https://www.mapillary.com/app/?pKey=196870435615529&focus=photo&lat=39.249424699971996&lng=-76.97908540000003&z=19.578626676366248. Please be careful using imagery in construction zones, as it goes stale. Mapillary is at least dated, but field work is best. Thanks and Happy Mapping! RoadGeek_MD99

Not sure how building=US:MD got set. Another mapper has fixed it.

You're right, postal codes are properties of addresses, but it is acceptable/optional to put postal_code on the street (see wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Key:postal_code).

Hi Tornado0910,

Thanks for all the work in Harford County. I noticed you added Aqua Culture at 22 Newport Dr. Are you sure of that location, as it is already mapped on Commerce Rd (just northeast of the end of the runway)? I was at 22 Newport on Aug 1st, and it was a vacant building. Thanks and Happy Mapping!

Re-opened Triadelphia Road bridge westbound over MD 32 only per survey (https://openstreetcam.org/details/2064838/1527/track-info) and https://twitter.com/MDSHA/status/1143149838797803523; https://www.roads.maryland.gov/pages/release.aspx?newsId=3480

Hi Craig,

Welcome to OSM! I noticed you edited the parking aisles for the shopping center in Columbia that has the Ale House Columbia. Unfortunately, the parking lot was been re-built after the Bing imagery was taken. You should check out the "MD Latest 6 Inch Aerial Imagery", which is newer. I can easily restore the current parking aisles for you. Thanks and
Happy Mapping!

Hi. My image of the opening hours was too blurry, so I've removed it (and the fixme).

Looks like a mistake (hot keys?) and has been removed. Thanks!

Umm, this law firm is 1,100 miles away in Florida. Could you remove this one? Thanks and Happy Mapping!

Hi Map Maker 1559,

Thanks for all the mapping! I noticed you are spelling out Maryland for addr:state. Addr:state is one of the very few things that OpenStreetMap-pers (see the Wiki on addr) have decided should be abbreviated, per USPS standards, so it should be addr:state=MD. I've fixed up a few of these in Frederick and will fix more as time permits. Thanks and Happy Mapping!

Hi Dartmouthmapmaker,

FYI: I just fixed a node in the Trans Can Hwy, where your edit somehow threw the node about 30 kms southeast. (This one:
node/452806403/history#map=11/46.2236/-67.3311). Not sure what JOSM was doing on that one. Thanks for the edits and Happy Mapping!

Hi Archivist,

Thanks for the map edits! I noticed you are using addr:* tags on highways, like this street way/6145033/history. Addr: tags are meant for points or buildings, not the highways or the parking lots. I can clean those up faster than iD, if you want me to.

If you have questions, you can check the wiki: osm.wiki or message me directly and you're welcome to join us at https://slack.openstreetmap.us/. We have a channel for Maryland, Newbie, General, etc.

Thanks and Happy Mapping!

Thanks! I think we're on the same page. I only reviewed/fixed the two Maryland hotels: Element (was Doubletree Tampa Airport) and the adjacent Aloft. I deleted (reverted) your changes to the misplaced Doubletree, to restore the Element I had mapped 5 years ago. The Tampa Airport hotel in FL is all yours. :-)

49597130 over 7 years ago

Hi PropertyVIEW®,
I reverted your change on this hotel from today and last year, so that I could restore this hotel's tags, thus fixing the damaged bits. Also merged the adjacent Aloft hotel POI into the way, as the way was only tagged with building:levels and wouldn't render.

Hi PropertyVIEW®,

Thanks for your hotel edits! However, this changeset needs to be reverted, as Tampa FL is several states away from Maryland. Also, it it OpenStreetMap practice to spell out the abbreviations in street names, so it should be West Cypress Street. If you want, I can fix this hotel, but you may want to check on the Tampa Airport Doubletree. Thanks and Happy Mapping!

Worked in Texas and then back in Maryland (via survey), creating this super large "cafe".

Thank you Catalinad_Telenav. I am all for Telenav's review of construction roads (to see if they need to be opened), but *removing* a road without looking at the changeset comments (mine included field survey plus a link to an OpenStreetCam image) and/or asking the mapper does not seem right to me. A 6 month old construction road might not show up on imagery for a year or longer. Thanks again for the revert. And Happy Mapping!

Why did you delete this road? See http://openstreetcam.org/details/1181037/1584/track-info for my pic of this construction. Please revert this changeset. Thank you.

Hi Sina Dabiri,

Welcome to OpenStreetMap! The Baltimore OSM community can always use another area mapper.

I noticed you added names to the exit ramps. Please note that the tagging of things can be rather complicated. If you scroll toward the bottom of the "Edit Feature", and click on the "All tags" drop down, you'll see that these roads are already tagged with destination:street=Caton Avenue, and that is the preferred tag for an exit to a street. Note that OSM standards also include spelling out street names (so that a navigation program can read out "Caton Avenue").

If you have questions, check out Help (osm.org/help), and the Wiki (osm.wiki). Or feel free to send me a direct message.

Thanks and Happy Mapping!
