Thanks for the hint. It certainly does not connect to Warwick Rd as it was drawn, as there are the residential house, garden barriers and different front yard layout. There is a structure in the aerial that winds around the gardens, runs through the gap between the building groups and connects to Tower Close. I have extended the path accordingly, leaving a FIXME that the accessibility needs ground verification. Similarly, node/1815165411 nearby probably connects to the road.

As for your counterexample, that is different of course as it runs through a pub. The Warwick road residents are more unlikely to serve you a pint when you try to run through their kitchen :-)

@SomeoneElse - I am not aware that OSM requires to record and publish conversations with operators of POIs. As for the 'what' - the way you enquired about.

Survey is not as clearly understood as you assume and has multiple meanings, which are badly defined for OSM purposes. The wiki/Survey redirects to wiki/Key:source, where the definition of source=survey is circular. The only 'local' on that page is in 'local knowledge', and that includes 'knows this first hand or from others'. Good, so that covers my interview. There are several discussions on the talk page that indicate need for clarifications. Go ahead and propose them.

And please provide me a concise form for my definition in post 3.

@will_p, apparently we have different definitions of the types of survey. When I do a ground, photograph or GPS based survey, I label it such. When I say local, for me it means general research from OSM-compliant sources, as above.

The purpose of my edits is to improve OSM data quality by combining knowledge from a variety of compliant sources, not just to retag something. In particular my edits consider the individual situation of a certain area, which is the opposite of a mechanical edit that would have required prior discussion. The edits include verification and node-to-polygon-expansion of existing POIs, which often were a couple of years old and have been found changing names, operators or existence, or moved to a different place.

I certainly consider now that you have a different preference for tagging particular amenities.

@SomeoneElse, as said, gathered local knowledge, in the particular case from interviewing staff, which is a valuable source of up-to-date information and also spreading the word about the project.

Local survey+Bing means gathering local knowledge from a complexity of sources, to verify what can be seen from aerial imagery, in a spacial and temporal perspective.

Your tagging question will be going to further consideration.

You can gather knowledge about the structure by viewing the following cc-licensed image. As the image itself was not reused, it was not cited individually.
http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/4194833

To my judgment, the structure is purpose-built for civic use, in contrast to residential-type buildings in the neighbourhood.

35876407 about 10 years ago

Thanks. building=* should describe the structural type, not the ownership. As for 'juvenile', my dictionary does not flag a negative connotation and gives examples like 'juvenile movie actor'. Thus, not just offenders.

Is there a reason why you even removed the building tag?

35700167 about 10 years ago

You have removed all tags from this fast food restaurant, is it still there? It was tagged as McDonald's.

Hi, in which scale did you enter the climbing difficulty, e.g. in node/1390787005 ? I would recommend to transfer them into unambiguous values as defined here: osm.wiki/DE:Tag:sport%3Dclimbing#Schwierigkeitsbewertungen

Hi, die "addr:inclusion=potential" wurden aber nicht angefasst?

35123727 about 10 years ago

Hi Susan, please do not use highway=unclassified_link which is undocumented and breaks routing.

Also please do not use Bing maps as a source for your mapping, only Bing Satellite images are allowed.

I checked and found that your junctions were not copied from Bing maps, so just the attribution was misleading.

Hi, could you specify what kind of place_of_worship this object is? Which religion? Is it a building like a church?

Hi VictorIE, do you have further details about this club, and who it operates? Would you know if it targets children, juveniles, or both? Is there a website for the club?

35021059 about 10 years ago

ok, will check with the user.

35021059 about 10 years ago

youth_club is currently used 59 times, being an old undocumented tag predominantly used before amenity=community_centre became widespread (30000).
The scope of the definition of community_centre was indeed discussed recently, leading to the introduction of community_centre:for as a subtag, which quickly gains popularity (juvenile+child+child;juvenile near 200), in analogy to social_facility:for.

Auch im Sumpfbecken bitte keine Render-Tests anlegen. Dafür gibt es Testinstanzen, oder man zieht sich eine Kopie vom Carto-Stylesheet.
