Its not a geocoder issues since there is no way to disambiguate the town campus separately with the current mapping as all the parts under a single name.

Per http://agsci.psu.edu/safety/facilities/farms-and-land , the farm is owned and operated by the college, but i'm unable to find any reference anywhere online it is considered a part of the university academic campus

One way to do it is to maybe create a new college relation for just the city campus that is a child of relation/3602151

You think it makes sense for the PSU city campus to have its own feature that is independent from the research farms?

It seems like the current mapping confuses geocoders into believing the main point of the relation is at the farm and not the main campus since they both are a single feature.

You are right, I checked some of the smaller buildings and from the shapes it looked good, but the tags are messed up.
