over 1 year ago | Yes, JOSM complained about addr:place and addr:street being in the same address. Please amend it if you have more local knowledge. (I first found it because there was a zero-width space before the postcode value.)

over 1 year ago | № 11 & 12 need adding to street relation.
over 1 year ago | There were only 10 uses of the tag in the UK (see https://osm.mathmos.net/addresses/addr-tags.html) and all were from this one village. Whether the tag is included or not, JOSM still flags it as a warning of "address without street" upon validation, which I've ignored. There are plenty of other address in the UK, mostly rural, where there simply isn't a named street that can be included.
over 1 year ago | The Pennine Way superroute and member relations have this section-as-name convention as well, though the sections don't follow the established stages of the route: I'll give it some more thought, come up with some more examples and counterexamples, and start (or continue) a discussion on the UK forum/mailing list.
| 152378109 | over 1 year ago | Hi Andy, I wasn't aware of the discussion beforehand. However, for long relations that are split into smaller sections, I renamed them because it's otherwise very difficult to tell at a glance which bits of the TPT are which. Naming all 14 parts of the TPT as just "Trans-Pennine Trail", while not incorrect, isn't helpful. Keeping that name only for the superroute makes sense to me. However, I will have a read of the discussion and adjust names accordingly. Thanks for the pointer. Regards,

over 1 year ago | If there's one thing we have absolutely covered mapping-wise in the UK it's all the motorways. There are some edge cases, such as node/1599716561, but all major routes were fully mapped over a decade ago.
over 1 year ago | Quite right. It's 5" gauge which is 127 mm. Now updated. Thank you.
over 1 year ago | Yes, and thanks for your understanding. It's appreciated.
over 1 year ago | I used the data given on https://osm.mathmos.net/addresses/post-towns/PR.html and the advice on osm.wiki/Addresses_in_the_United_Kingdom as a guide to making the changes. I can change these addresses back if you want but be aware that the addr:* tagging is intended to map the *postal* address only and the keys settled on have been reached by consensus. Sometimes this reveals the arbitrary way that Royal Mail assigns postal towns, and other aspects of addresses, which can seem odd. If you want a *locational* address then Nominatim or the query tool handles this, eg the "Enclosing features" for Garstang would be: osm.org/query?lat=53.9016&lon=-2.774 (scroll down in left-hand pane) but its post town (addr:city) is Preston.
over 1 year ago | There is a company registered to that address (https://find-and-update.company-information.service.gov.uk/company/06242292) but I've put it back to the main one of Kettle Foods. Thanks for the tip.
over 1 year ago | Seem to have found a bug in StreetComplete.

almost 2 years ago | This is a lorry turning area (so they can make the sharp turn) but I'll map the road area instead.
almost 2 years ago | Revisited my first edit made 9,999 changesets ago (was changeset #18835077).
almost 2 years ago | It's only on the relation name, not the members of the relation. It's so the relation is unambiguous at the global level and brings it in line with others such as the A10, A14, A41, etc... The motorway relations already have this naming covnention.
