der gelöschte Weg ist vor Ort vorzufinden und (zumindest aktuell) entsprechend gut begehbar. Auch in amtlichen Karten ist er verzeichnet womit Betreten erlaubt ist. Vielleicht ist es hier eher passend, einfach auf erschwerte Begehbarkeit mit smoothness=bad zu verweisen?

Guten Tag,

Mir ging es mit den Bearbeitungen direkt am Tagebau vor allem darum, einen nahtlosen Übergang von Landnutzungen herzustellen. Dass sich der Tagebau ständig verschiebt und deswegen nicht so detailliert gemappt werden kann ist verständlich, allerdings sollten die umliegenden Flächen schon (wenn auch nur grob) eingezeichnet werden.

Bezüglich des Taggings habe ich für die renaturierten Flächen landuse=brownfield genommen. Passt zwar nicht genau auf den Wortlaut von "vormals bebauten Gelände", ein natural Tag scheint mir aktuell aber noch nicht sinnvoll. Die gerodeten Flächen im Westen sollten natürlich keine landuse=meadow sein, eventl. passt hier natural=grassland eher.

Den genauen Wortlaut der Schilder habe ich nicht mehr im Kopf, aber laut Wiki sollte "Betreten verboten" anstelle von "Durchfahrt verboten" eher auf access=private deuten, siehe osm.wiki/DE:Tag:access=private

Wie genau das im Fall zu beurteilen ist bin ich mir nicht sicher, wenn weitere Informationen vorliegen kann das gerne geändert werden.

Unfortunately a lot of valid tags are not rendered on the main OSM map. Because there are many different applications using OSM data, it’s best to use the most specific tag even if that means that the data is not rendered on the map.

What I was wondering about is that you changed the tags from railway=proposed to railway=construction which would mean that the tracks are not only proposed but their construction has started. Even though it’s sadly not rendered on the map, railway=proposed is a valid tag and if construction hasn’t started, this tag should be used instead.

Hey. I’m a local contributor and was wondering whether these changes are correct. There is ongoing construction on the existing railways starting at "Altenburger Straße", but AFAIK this is not related to the proposed new tram lines. Are you sure this is correct?

Warum genau wurde der Name "Drösel-Gebiet" entfernt? Der Name wird in Jena mindestens als de-facto Bezeichnung für das Gebiet verwendet, das lässt sich z.B. auch mit Zeitungsartikeln belegen:

Yes, this is an pedestrian area, tagging should have been area:highway like the others. Also, the surface really seems to be granite, but i am not entirely sure. I am going to retag it to surface for now

Believe it or not, the name "Frankenstein" has been in use for hundreds of years and would likely still be mentioned by the German-speaking community if they refer to the town to other German speakers, which also applies for other towns in the area. You may find it ridiculous and have your own opinion on the topic, but as long as this is what most people agree on, you can't just remove hundreds of names.

For the translation of powiat names, the same applies as for gmina names. Translating the type of municipality "powiat" -> "Landkreis" followed by the German town name "Ząbkowice Śląskie" -> "Frankenstein" results in "Landkreis Frankenstein".

This is, as mentioned in changeset/140914509, common practice in OSM and until agreed upon otherwise by the community also not subject of a large-scale revert.

The agreement that names resulting from political renaming should be tagged under old_name:de does only apply if the German name was the result of politically motivated renaming (e.g. changed names during the war), not if the name was changed after 1945. I made sure to only add such names under the tag old_name:de:-1945 or similar. See the wiki on this topic: name:de=*

Like i said, give me a link to the public discussion. The current consensus within the German community is that longstanding German town names should be tagged under name:de, not just for larger cities but generally for those with longstanding German names. This is also implied on the wiki, see name:de=*

The website http://gov.genealogy.net is not a source but rather a collection of historical sources. In the case of these town names, the sources are official historical town directories, for example http://pbc.gda.pl/dlibra/docmetadata?id=7326, which are nowadays available under public domain, making them compatible with OSM. Because the historical sources are documented well on this website, and sometimes also on Wikipedia, i mentioned both as "sources" in the changeset.

The historical German town names you have deleted were correctly tagged given the current stance of the German community on the topic.

Some towns in what is nowadays Poland have had longstanding German names, many of which are still used today by German speakers. The current agreement within the community is that those names should be added under the tag name:de, as long as they were not part of any political renaming campaign. All of the names you have removed don’t meet this criteria and are thus correctly tagged.
