This is not an official trail through the Indiana Dunes National PArk. There is a sign at the west end, in the Cowles Bog Parking Lot, indicating such. This is actually a fireline for controlled burn operations conducted by the NPS. Visitors hiking this can get a ticket from the NPS for being "off trail."

Also not actual hiking trails, but prescribed fire control lines. Hiking these may result in a fine from the NPS.

These former roads are closed. Foot travel is not permitted in this area per the NPS.
