The Barnstable village node is now admin_centre of the Barnstable village administrative boundary. Apologies for the confusion.

Hi, I can agree that Barnstable is better classed as a town than a city, but I am moving the Barnstable town and Hyannis nodes back to where I previously put them. I don't see any reason why I shouldn't be allowed to move city/town nodes to a more central location if I see fit. Hyannis is where almost all of Barnstable's town offices are and where Barnstable's major shopping district (Main Street) is, features which I would argue make Hyannis the modern town center and not Barnstable village. OSM's data is constantly changing, and a node being in an incorrect place for a considerably long amount of time is no good reason to stop people from editing it.

Hi there and welcome to OSM!

It seems that you've both added and deleted a lot elements without stating your sources. Some of the deleted elements are still visible on aerial imagery, which makes me think your editing is perhaps not well-meaning.

Furthermore, continuing to use "Social work" as a changeset description would be unhelpful to other as it doesn't actually explain how you have edited the map data. You should also try to restrict your changesets to a smaller area so they are easier to review individually.

If you do not respond to this comment by 12:00 AM on Saturday, June 18 explaining your mapping activity all of your changesets will be reverted until myself and others understand what you are doing.

Best,
-M.S.

Thanks for clarifying. The Tag:junction=circular Wiki page does request the use of oneway=* so I've readded those.

122095018 over 3 years ago

I have driven through this intersection many times and the circular part is indisputably a oneway

Hi there, I appreciate your addition of junction=circular both here and at the Newton Corner junction, but what is your reason for removing oneway=yes tags when they are perfectly valid?

Hi there, welcome to OSM and congratulations on making your first edit! In the future, you should avoid abbreviating street names like you did here as full spellings are preferred when they are verifiably correct.

Fair enough, I'll change to name/official_name=Robb Elementary School and short_name=Robb Elementary;Robb

121481829 over 3 years ago

Also from name–If=* an official name is more unwieldy or obscure than another name for the same feature and fewer people use it in practice, even if it is signposted, it is better to put the official name in official_name=* or alt_name=* than to treat it as the primary name.

If you go to 0:52 on https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=gXbs0pjlAIc you can see a sign that says "Robb Elementary"

Hi wambag, it's nice to see your edits around Boston, however I would argue this edit is unnecessary for the following reason. It implies that the service roads curve slightly as it approaches Mount Vernon Street to form a right angle, but when viewed from aerial imagery there is no such curve. This could also affect GPS navigation by changing the turn radius to an incorrect value, thus making the turns become right angles when they are in reality more acute or obtuse. As someone who used to try to form right angles at every intersection, I've learned that it isn't practical unless the roads are exactly perpendicular. I'll hold off on reverting your edit until you see this, but perhaps you could explain your reasoning?
