Hi, No Trespassing sign is not a reason for removing a road. In such cases we add 'access=private' tag.

Hi and thanks for contributing to OSM, but has the road beed completely removed? It is clearly visible on aerial imagery.

Hi,
thanks for your good work, but before you do further road classification changes in CT, would you mind contacting jnighan and consulting wiki?
osm.wiki/Connecticut/Highway_classification

Recently all roads were tidied up and so let's be careful to not make a mess out of it again. Thanks

It seems that wiki suggests using "lane_markings=no". I don't know if "lanes=1" is appropriate in this case. (lanes=*)

To denote that someone is maintaining the road and you also have their name you can use "operator=xyz". In some cases some folks also add "access=permissive" tag.

Hi, though driveways are more or less those short paved strips that lead from Handel Court to a particular garage/house. This is more of a residential road with a purpose to provide an access to houses.

Hi, you accidentally removed building=yes tag.
I went ahead and fixed that.

Hi, could you please provide mor information about the building? Is this some sort of company? There are several buildings around that are named ASML. Does the '(50)' signify anything?
Thanks

Looks good, thanks!

One tip for you, you can press Q to force all angles to 90˚. Buildings then look nicer.

Looks good. Thanks!

Hi and welcome to OSM!
What are you trying to achieve? `man_made=beacon` that you used is meant for signal towers, which i suspect is not what you meant.
man_made=beacon

Also you seemed to have moved an address from one of the houses onto a road node/8850609511

Thanks for contributing! Do you know what kind of business this is (restaurant, fast food,..)? Name is not sufficient to find it.

When it comes to ownership of the roads one can add "operator=XYZ condo complex" tag to the roads that are maintained by a certain private entity.
But as far as I know, in CT the sign "private" does not automatically mean public access is denied. There needs to be either "No Trespassing" sign or a physical barrier like gate, ramp, etc. preventing the public entry. Without those, some people add "access=permissive" to indicate that it's not a public road, but the use is tolerated.

There have been a few discussions about this on OSMUS Slack where you can poke around if you want.

Hi and thanks for contributing to OSM! Though, these roads were correctly classified as residential as they serve as an access to residential buildings.
Also we mark roads as private only if they have a "no trespassing" sign or a gate that prevents entering the road.
Let me know if I can be of any help.

Also there is this Map type in Gaia that they outsourced and shows the trails. You can add it to your account with the green button in the corner

Relations are another type of object that groups together related lines and points. In this case it groups together all lines that make up Nipmuck Trail. (route=hiking)

Gaia doesn't like to show marked trail, but there are other maps that do.
e.g, Mapy (https://en.mapy.cz/turisticka?x=-72.1984958&y=41.8753241&z=15)

Hi Andrew, I just noticed that when you decommissioned this tunnel what also got lost was information about 'maxheight' for vehicles to pass. I don't know if the limit is still there, but if yes then we should still put the tag back so large cars can navigate well.

Hello Brian,
thanks for contributing to OSM! Great job adding those buildings. Just a little tip, after you draw a building press "Q" (or right click + select square). This will automatically make all the angles 90˚ and the outlines will look nicer.
Oh and don't forget to save your changes to OSM before you move to the next area.

Cheers

Hi, you double tagged golf=fairway features. They already exist as multipolygons e.g. relation/12772930

Please don't change data just to fit your particular use case.
