Hi and thanks for contributing to OSM.

However, I have to ask you:
1. Please do not delete existing objects. If they need updating, then edit their shape or tags.
2. Please don't create overlapping areas. See leisure=golf_course#Common_mapping_pitfalls for how to map correctly.
3. Do not tag for <what ever software you are using>. If the area is marsh then leave it as march and don't change it to grass.

Hi, I am working on fixing rivers in Georgia. What the purpose of these small stream fragments?
e.g. way/82011473
I assume they were meant to indicate occasional flow. I am merging them and labeling as intermittent=yes.
Is that correct?

I don't think that it makes sense to have isolated 0.5 mile road stretches across CT labeled as trunk roads. Would you want to be routed somewhere just because your navigation wanted to save 3 seconds on "higher" class road?
Also this doesn't really fit trunk description as high performance or high importance road similar to interstate highway. Typically, "a relatively high-speed divided road (at least 40 MPH with a barrier or median separating each direction of traffic".

Hi,
thanks for contributing. I wanted to ask if you know that those driveways have no trespassing sign? If not then they should not be labeled as private as they can be used by delivery vehicles or visitors. Correct tagging is access=destination + ownership=private.

On the second note, please do not delete existing objects. The correct way is to add access tag to indicate whether they can be used or not.

You're right. I got carried away by the editing too much and then it was too late to split it into several changesets.
Will remember for the future.

Hello ZoSoSF, thanks for contributing to OSM. I have to though give you comments on few things that I noticed in your edits:

1) please do not remove valid tags like water=lake : way/908517598
2) do not delete valid structures such as building and replace them with low quality hand traces
3) your imagery is most likely not aligned and you shifted all objects to wrong position
4) please do not enter random number values into name tag: way/913324542, way/913324543
5) golf=green and golf=fairway polygons should not overlap

I had to revert some of your changes to fix these errors

Just check that this is officially recognized as village and not census region. (I the past I had extensive argument about this since some people hate when census areas are in admin levels)
If it is village then admin_level should be 9 (8 are towns)

This one was probably supposed to be attached to something

It seems this would be more appropriate tag: man_made=survey_point

Hey David, what is going on with West Rock Park? Now the main section is split into 3 parts. Some outer parts are overlapping probably causing it not to render. And as far as I know there is no West Rock Ridge New Haven Park.

Sorry that was me. It happened when I was cleaning touristic attractions and I probably though this was there because someone just wanted to have a text rendered on the map.

No problem. I have fixed the road, check if the private stretch is as you intended.

Hi DLCT Ranger,
and thanks for contributing to OSM.

One thing that is wrong with your edit is that you drew a road (driveway) on top of already existing road (residential road). If you want to modify part of a road, the correct way is to split the road at that position [ click on the node and press 'x']. Then you can modify the tags in the new made segment.

PS1: Are you sure that that stretch is private access? How would cars (e.g. delivery) get to the stretch of the road on the island that is not marked as private?

PS2: We don't put descriptions into Name e.g.(Private Driveway). Marking it as private is sufficient.

DarylHannah,
thanks for contributing. Few things that should be improved.

1) leisure=park is for regular parks not skateparks (sport=skateboard)

2) Any reason for deleting streets in Philippines? They show up on satellite imagery.

3) The buildings you draw are very coarse. You can trace them better from imagery (Esri clarity or Maxar). Minimally please use square function by pressing Q.

4) Driveways are not tagged as unclassified, but with highway=service + service=driveway

5) When editing, please keep edits in one changeset geographically close. Your boundingBox is large and shows up as edits also in areas where you didn't make any changes.

Hi,
for next time, could you please keep edits in one changeset geographically close and also include source of the information.

Hi Jwheels9876,
thanks for contributing to OSM. I just found that you (seems to intentionally) moved power lines away from their correct position that crosses golf course.
Please don't do edits that damage other data and whenever you have questions about how to edit or tag objects you can always reach out to osmus.slack.com

Hi PackmanCt,
thanks for contributing to OSM. I just noticed that you also moved Hale Junior High School to an area of highway intersection with no apparent buildings. Was this an error or is there a new development in the area?

Hi Scotty,
Thanks for contributing to OSM. One thing that I need to correct you about is that the name=* tag is not used for storing descriptive information. All of what you already entered has to be moved to appropriate objects and tags.

Here is a quick info on what you are looking for:
leisure=golf_course
golf=hole

Hi estepme,
there are several issues with your edits:

1) All the building (and other features) outlines are inaccurate. If You switch satellite imagery to 'ESRI world imagery clarity', you will be able to draw more precise shapes. You can also use squaring function to make them all angles 90˚

2) You created additional points with names for each building. Information from the points should go directly on the area and points should be removed.

3) You are misusing `landuse=commercial' and 'leisure=park' for features that have their own set of tags e.g. leisure=pitch for sport.

4) You put `intermittent=yes` on Mount Tom Pond, which would indicate that it is seasonally dry. That seem very unlikely.
