Je to naozaj parkovisko, alebo parkovanie na ulici? parking:lane=*

Hi, I don't think that this is correct. From the areal imagery, it is obvious that the bridge is much longer.

1) You added information about a company onto a line which represents Honeyspot Road. Businesses have to be represented either by a single node (at exact position = building) or in case a whole building belongs to the company, the tags are placed on building polygon itself.

2) You forgot to include tag that would identify what kind of business it is. In case of Kitchen Brains something like 'shop=electronics' would be appropriate.

You can find all the information how to correctly edit OSM in wiki: wiki.openstreetmap.org or iD editor tutorial.
If not sure, you can ask any questions on help page: https://help.openstreetmap.org/ or in the Slack channel: osmus.slack.com

Edits with exactly the same mistake as yours appear in OSM about every 30 min and fixing them takes OSM community a lot of effort. Please, it would help if you could spread these information among your colleagues so their edits also follow OSM guidelines.

Hi, I reverted your edit.
Please stop damaging map data with your SEO edits.

Hi and welcome to OSM!
Unfortunately I had to revert your edit because it didn't meet the OSM criteria.

1) No source for the data was specified
2) The node was placed on a lawn not at an object where the business resides.
3) The type of business was improperly tagged (no tag at all).
4) The neighboring object looks like a residential building. It is hard to verify that such company resides there.
5) You included unwanted SEO tagging.

From my point of view, since the two buildings are physically attached without any air gap, we should have them attached here as well, because we are mapping the reality.

What I agree is controversial is the Quadrangle multipolygon and its validity.
The Quadrangle (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Memorial_Quadrangle) is the whole structure including all the courts and so 1) I could draw a new area around everything and name it Memorial Quadrangle or 2) create multipolygon relation and unite all the areas under one name. (Only the 'outer' role make sense, because 'inner' would exclude them.)

Maybe I'll try to ask at OSM forum if anybody has a suggestion how to handle such cases.

Hi,
Here you put the name of the church on one of the nodes instead on the way.

58014663 over 7 years ago

Hi,
You accidentally added amenity=parking tag on one of the nodes, but not on the way itself. Could you please fix that by removing the tag from the node and putting it on the way.

57922756 over 7 years ago

The whole structure of the two Colleges is called Memorial Quadrangle and hence the multipolygon was created to avoid double naming.
I searched different sources about whether two touching outer members are valid an not, but only I could find is that two outer members touching in two nodes is valid: osm.wiki/Relation:multipolygon/validity

And inner members sharing a line segment is OK (touching inner rings): osm.wiki/Relation:multipolygon

I am a little confused why two outer segment could not do the same.

What tool does report this as an error?
As far as I know it is common practice to draw buildings that are touching as areas that have overlapping line segments (and it doesn't matter if it is a simple area or a multipolygon).

Hi EdSS,
Any reason for disconnecting these and all the other buildings?
This two buildings are physically attached without any passageway leading to the court. So far I see it as a candidate for revert.

I reverted your changeset.

Hi RD1,
thank you for contributing to OSM. However, I just realized that you made some disputable edits.
First of all you disconnected Morgan Lane at the intersection with Frontage Road and removed a road name from the West CAmpus entrance gate to the intersection with Morgan Lane. Do you think you can fix these errors?

Secondly you changed Frontage Road to residential road. Residential roads are typically with houses and as the name Frontage suggest this is going to be some higher class of highway (Unclassified or Tertiary).
Westcampus Drive can not be also not be residential road, but my guess it would be either service or unclassified.
I am not sure what were your thought behind such changes.
Best,
Martin

Ahoj plk42,
vdaka za prispievanie do OSM. Tag "name" sa vsak pouziva iba pre vlastne meno objektu (napr. Fontana mieru). Toto je iba opisny nazov.
Mohol by si ho ako aj ostatne "mena" fontan, jazierok atd. prosim ta odstranit?

Hello,
I would like to let you know that your changes completely disconnected several roads from Broadway, which made Whalley Avenue a dead end street. And also caused Broadway to be renamed to Dixwell Avenue.

This is a serious misconduct bordering with vandalism. I am writing this, because it not the first time such a thing happened on your side. OSM is a collaborative effort of many people and is used by many projects. Behavior like this has a detrimental effect on OSM data and community. Please, refrain from such edits in future.

I am reverting this whole changeset.

Hi Spanza and welcome to OSM. Thanks for tracing out those buildings, but I have to remind you that tag "landuse=residential" is used to mark residential areas and not the buildings themselves. Please replace the tags with "building=yes" or any appropriate combination from here building=*

Hi paulte, I changed tagging of your path to more appropriate highway=footway.

Hi potatodragon, I had to delete your paths in Edgerton Park because they were duplicate of already existing ways in that parks.

Hi Kaore,
waterway=stream is used to tag actual natural streams. What kind of object are you trying to edit? Can you please fix the error?

see: waterway=stream

45477629 almost 9 years ago

This is an incorrect way how to tag an object. If there is a church in this building, you should place a new point/node in the centre of the building and use tags amenity=place_of_worship. The 'name' tag should contain its actual name and not a generic 'church'.
Could you please fix it?

See: amenity=place_of_worship
