Lincoln Gap is closed from mid-fall to early summer. Even in the best of conditions it is extremely steep and narrow, basically a one-lane goat track over the top of bare ledge. Fantastic view to the west but would not recommend it for crossing the mountain even with 4WD and good brakes.

We have information from customer that this building is not longer a Gatehouse Lodge. Could someone approve this data? #mapbox_feedback

Gleason Brook runs through here down to the Winooski River. The new LT follows the edge of this brook from Bamforth Ridge. There used to be the Willey Lodge not far from here.

Middlesex notch road used to continue through these ponds and connect roughly to Hough Road, but a house was built right in the middle of it, a debatably legal endeavor. This is a customary route for hikers and cyclists which does require some hiking and careful footwork, but is a legal thoroughfare.
