Changeset When Comment
126853149 over 3 years ago

Hi s@jj@d, the roads you edited were correct the way it was before, the sat images are not updated yet.
Please if you see the roads are aligned and straight and the one in the sat image is not paved that means the sat image is old and the residential area is paved now and has straight roads.
Please do not assume what a road should look like, please consider contacting local mappers you see who edit in the subject areas for local knowledge.
Also please use a good changeset comment next time. You should've explained to the mappers what you edit and why, so mappers can understand and know what your edit is. Having only "edit" is unclear and doesn't help.
Please read: osm.wiki/Good_changeset_comments
I will revert your edits back to the correct way of roads.
Regards.

Yes because we can not have a descriptive name, Also it was wrong. So I added the official name.. Regards.

Please provide a source as I never heard of this change.
Also restore name:ar that you deleted for this road in changeset/63292043

126243462 over 3 years ago

The origins of the name didn’t mean it should be in that language.
The ‘name’ tag should always be in local spoken language. And what is the spoken language of the majority? Yes, Arabic, this is the one to use.

126566317 over 3 years ago

No, they were correct, I do understand all languages including Arabic, and Arabic were 100% correct. You removed them because you did not like them.
I suggest to keep your problems, political and ethnic views to yourself and not on the map.

126525163 over 3 years ago

Ok thats for the postal code. But why the country?

126566317 over 3 years ago

Do not remove names entirely! If ’name’ was in Arabic and you want ‘name’ in kurdish then move ‘name’ to ‘name:ar’ but do not remove it entirely!
You removed thousands of Arabic names from northern Iraq! Even hundreds of ‘name:ar’ tags!
for example in changeset/63292043 you deleted 82 name:ar and 50 loc_name:ar? why???

126525163 over 3 years ago

May I know why did you delete tens of "addr:country", "addr:place" and "addr:postcode" ?

I'm Iraqi and no he is not a "source of pride" or "honor of a country". He is a terrorist, read: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Abu_Mahdi_al-Muhandis

126248699 over 3 years ago

>You are not allowed to call the national hero of Iraq a terrorist.

Are you Iraqi? No. We the Iraqi do not see him as a "hero" or any other glorified names etc.. he is a terrorist who bombed the Iraqi embassy and made lots of bombing attacks in Kuwait in 1983 and did terrorist activities against our Iraqi Army in the 1980s. He is designated as a terrorist by the U.S and many other nation. He killed hundreds of us the Iraqi protesters in 2019 and you say we call him a national hero of Iraq???

> It seems that you are a member of ISIS and you are very upset about the expulsion of ISIS

If you do not apologize for this I'm going to report you now for using such words.

126248699 over 3 years ago

@ChehrehBargi all the things you added is illegal by law. 2nd of all you should never mention a terrorist name like "Abu Mahdi Al-Muhandis" here in OSM! 3rd of all, when mapping, consider mapping according to local laws as we can not have "religious" places that is not registered officially with the Endowment Department.
Regards.

126535042 over 3 years ago

Hello ChehrehBargi,
First of all there is no monument here.
2nd of all this places is not registered officially, therefore by Iraqi law this is illegal to have a named place that is unregistered.
3rd of all, you can not say "رجل شجاع مثل أبو مهدي المهندس الذي حاربهم بشجاعة خلال الهجوم البريطاني" etc. (translate to: "like the brave Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis who fought the British") The guy you mentioned "Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis" is a terrorist on the international terrorist list! such name should never be mentioned in OSM!
I will revert this changeset. I would suggest considering contacting local mappers from this country before doing such problematic edits.
Regards.

> I'm the translator of that page in Persian.
Translating and understanding is totally different things.

The examples you gave should read the comments again if you still do not understand, or tell me what do you no understand yet.

About the group, if a user invited another user to a group, that will make you don't want to join a group?
We the Iraqi user invite people to join our community to discuss and to help them if they have a problem.

I advice you to stick with things you have local or at least some knowledge of, as I had fixed many errors you made here in my country. it's not wrong to map without local knowledge it is absolutely fine but local knowledge is always the way to go.

Here in OSM we should all be bold and edit and fix errors, we shall not hesitate to edit the map.

Best Regards.

>you could have added the numbers or names that the Ministry of Energy has given. The map is improved with the cooperation of all editors

Hi, I do not know the exact numbering of them but I know the one that was added is wrong.
The ministry of electricity uses kilometer based numbering, like "pole killo40" or "pole killo50" etc..
The number your added is "guide post" not the number of the pole.

>but deleted in his massive mechanical cleanups.
I adviced you to read and understand the words your using before saying it, as I do examine each single node I edit.
read: osm.wiki/Automated_edits
My cleanups of spam are approved and requested by the Iraqi OSM community, if you disagree? head up to @osm_iraq to complain.

Regards.

No, we don’t put fake names/numbers.
If someone put a fake number on his house, should we add the fake number to osm? No.

126290421 over 3 years ago

You added a “street lamp” with “xxx” number. Is that correct? The answer is no.
