I asked simple questions since you said "you can't change the definition" tell me, what definition that I am changing? and where it was written, where does it say "it's generally used when there are several alternative spellings (or forms) for the same language."?

I've read the wiki, and it doesn't say a such thing for alt_name. so please show me where this rule came from that 'alt_name' should be in the 'name' tag language only.

If you believe that 'alt_name' should only be in the language of 'name' tag then propose that and you can start here: https://lists.openstreetmap.org/listinfo/talk

finally, here in OSM, we assume goodwill, using such words is not nice, please refrain from using these terms and accusations.

Best regards...

>"it's generally used when there are several alternative spellings (or forms) for the same language."
-Can you please show me where it says that in the wiki?

>"you can't change the definition"
-What definition you're referring to that say "'alt_name' should be in the same language as 'name' tag"?

The official definition says:
"This tag can be used when a street, river or any other feature has another common name but there is some other alternative form."
alt_name=*

Let's take a look at examples of how this mapped around the world, I randomly picked 5 examples for you where 'name' and 'alt_name' are not just in different languages, but a different alphabet too:
way/265619988
node/3014281108
relation/3395130
node/293911735
node/276850140

Hi, can you tell me why did you delete ‘alt_name’?
You added ‘alt_name:ar’ which is correct but why did you delete ‘alt_name’?
In all of the Kurdistan region the I believe should be in Central Kurdish and the alt_name should be in Arabic since it’s the official language in Federal government.

I have fixed the name:ar now for this village and restored the correct alt_name that you deleted too, please don't remove Arabic names again.

Hello, again, please use Arabic for name:ar not Kurdish, Kurdish is for name:ckb not name:ar...
The name was "سيكانيان" and you put it as "سێکانیان" which is kurdish.
Please read what the DWG had told you in osm.org/user_blocks/6298

Hi Lamassu, I honestly don’t know anything about him, the names I put you can see them in Wikidata too. If they’re wrong please edit the names to the correct ones. Thank you dear friend.

Please answer my first question here.
What is your source? What map are you copying from? And are you a part of Iranian Neshan team?

Also, why did you remove the oneway tag from way/47761935? it was correct lawfully, in Iraq if there is a road that have 4 ways, 2 main and 2 secondary on the side, that means two ways to go and two ways to return.
You put "knowledge" as your source but you don't have any knowledge in Iraq's highway system!

Hello, Why are you putting name with Persian letters instead of Arabic for the name tags?
You added 7 residential road names, what is your sources? in Iraq all residential roads do not have a name, instead they have a district and an alley number, what is the source of the names you put?
From what map are you copying?

What is your source for way/851275184 and way/455334759 ? and why did you put the 'name' tag for them with Persian letters instead of Arabic?

What is your source please?
You are part of Neshan team right? which is from Iran, another country, how can you have knowledge in street names?
Please define the source of these names.
And add the team/group name to your profile.

Hi, yes, I was correcting the relation of the monument, I did 5-ish revisions I guess until it become right so the 3rd shape view and render correctly without errors. I didn't notice your previous edits, so thanks for adding it back again. Please if you know the correct name:fa for other monuments in Baghdad, add them too as there is no name:fa in wikidata for me to add. Regards.

The current 'name:ar' is "کانی کەند" which is not in Arabic but in Kurdish, and even if people who speak Arabic, which is Arabs wanted to search for this village, they can't type the name because the 6th letter is a Kurdish one and not available in an standard Arabic keyboard.

@SomeoneElse, this: https://osm.mapki.com/history/node/2488271706 Currently there is no Arabic text for the village, so if people search for it in Arabic they won't find it. I will revert the name:ar tag to pervious state later today.
