Changeset When Comment

This doesn't address the issues I mentioned at the comment above.
The picture you used as "source" do not match the name you put. You did not notice this?

157854719 about 1 year ago

>Source was the picture I linked in the first comment above.
But the name on the sign does not match the one you put in 'name'
And you also changed the Arabic name which was also correct before.

In top of that, the name you used is not clear and might give confusions, as you just stated the name like Kifri administration office, but you did not state, it is for the District of Kifri? or the subdistrict of Kifri? Because each has it's own office. Before your edit, it was clear and correct.

We should not leave this mistake on OSM like this, and shall be corrected.

Also, what is the date of this picture? and when it was taken? before or after my edit? Did you ask this question to the one who sent it?
In OSM, we should not rely on images that may be old and prefer them to other modern sources that may not rely on images, such as survey.

Regards.

Source of the image please?

159470570 about 1 year ago

What is the source for the image you used?

157854719 about 1 year ago

What was your source for this change?
My source was eye survey.
Also, see the message I sent on you on OSM now.
Regards.

As I stated, eye survey.
And the nameplate can be found online, see: https://i.ibb.co/XkrZQZB/image.png

Hello, SomeoneElse,

Have you seen the history? way/332658571/history
It was initially added with an Arabic name, but in changeset/127308649, it was changed, and the changeset comment was only "set of edits." I don't see your comment there asking for a source or suggesting a better changeset comment.

The source used was an eye survey, as I saw the sign in Arabic when I was there. The signs frequently change with each new mayor, on top of other factors like furnishings, etc.

Currently, the mayor is Sahir Ali Jasim, who is Arab, and in his office, there is a nameplate on his desk written exclusively in Arabic. It states his name and job title as follows:

ساهر علي جاسم
قائممقام

I suggest that whoever sent you the report simply comment on the changeset next time and initiate a discussion instead of wasting DWG’s time.

Regards,

But here you deleted those names entirely, you did not move them to alt_name. Please do restore those names that you deleted as alt_name. Regards.

Hello OmarHakim, and welcome to OSM! please write a changeset comment that do describe your edit instead of typing your name, this way other mappers will understand and know what your edit is. Thank you!

Hello, Can you explain what and why it is "bad naming"? And maybe a source to back the naming, example for way way/260285732/history
Regards.

Place=* nodes outside the official kurdish region boundaries shall be on named after the federal government main language.

158302073 about 1 year ago

Why did you delete the Arabic name entirely?

158014517 about 1 year ago

The only vandalist is you that you keep delete neighborhoods that do exist and add others in fake name against the whole local community, the only one who use sock puppet accounts is you, example V4 here: https://osm.mapki.com/history/node/11629870960
Stop this behavior

Yes, name:ar=* is in Arabic now, thank you.

No problem my friend.

@desertivy each neighborhood in Baghdad name their main street as "main street" should we name all of those street as such? or like "clinic road"? of course no, we shall name it by the name all of the city say. If it was a village or a remote place, then yes, maybe it's fine with that case, but major road in the capital city to name it "bicycles streets" because bicycles are sold there, and only for a small part of the road while the rest of it has a different name? that is nonsense. Descriptive names has no place in OSM, if there was no other names, maybe, but use it as name=* not as alt or loc is just wrong and if we let it happen it will be a seed for wrong mapping.
