This is mentioned in osm.wiki/Guidelines_for_pedestrian_navigation#Ways_inside_buildings although it has other problems. Also used in osm.wiki/MENTZ_GmbH/Modellierungsvorschläge_Indoor and osm.wiki/France/Transilien/Hackcess in some extent.

`=footway` + `indoor=yes` should be used instead of `=corridor` for consistency with `=steps` + `indoor=yes`, and perhaps other vehicular roads. https://taginfo.openstreetmap.org/tags/highway=footway#combinations is more numerous at 50k than the 40k https://taginfo.openstreetmap.org/tags/highway=corridor

Please don't draw areas attached on roads. It doesn't represent reality, and make editing difficult. Draw them along the sidewalk physically.
