SUMNER TUNNEL CLOSURE 7/5/24 TO 8/5/24: Who had this bright idea? I realize that there are definitely other times that would have been even a worse time to do this work, but I live by the simple "where there is a NEED...there is a way", so why couldn't they figure out a better way to do this like 12hr work closings at most opportune time such as overnight? Or maybe early fall when all students have moved back in and families have gone home? Or after the winter holiday break? I think that any of them ideas would have been better than doing it in the middle of the busiest summer month for incoming tourists trying to escape the even worse heat & humidity of some southern states! Foundry St. Is nearly an impassable street. Has seen too much modification over many years without proper repair or replacement. AVOID IF POSSIBLE or PROCEED CAUTIOUSLY.

Worst traffic conditions in Wakefield. Commuter rail station, intersection of 2 major thru ways, railroad crossing(very busy) and no easy alternative route. AVOID particularly in the afternoon to evening hours.
