Sounds good.

I see. You can compare heights with the sign across the road. The sign was tall enough that it wouldn't have been buried by that snowbank, so it was clearly gone as of 2023.

Would you happen to remember where you found the name for this turn-off? I think it may be due for an update, but I couldn't find any signage in street level imagery.

I decided to keep Greybull as the primary name and add Roach Gulch as the alt name to align with NID. We'll have to see what GNIS says. I suspect they'll want someone to make an official name submission rather than picking up the name from another government organization.

Oops. "Roach Gulch Reservoir"

I think this may be the "Roach Valley Reservoir" or that's possibly an alternative name. https://greybullvalleyid.com/reservoir-levels/

I feel like this changeset needs a little more explanation than would have fit in the comment. The roads in Mesquite Valley have conflicting names in different sources. Where possible, I tried to reconcile BLM, San Bernardino County road centerline data, and San Bernardino County assessor maps. Unfortunately, there's not much street-level imagery here. And what imagery I could find didn't have any signage. In some cases roads ended up with one or two alt_name values where the different sources didn't agree. The assessor maps aren't even consistent with one another! This was a best effort to try to make things consistent, but corrections supported by on-the-ground data or sources that reconcile the inconsistencies would be welcome!

Done. I recognize your avatar pic, by the way. Nice choice!

Ah! So Dorner's camp is probably access=private. And the same for all the connecting trails. Makes sense. Thanks!

Thanks for updating the access conditions around Granite Pass! I haven't been able to get there myself, so I'm curious about a couple of things. You've been there? Are the gates signed no trespassing or no public entry? Or are the roads just closed to vehicle traffic so you could hike in?

Great! Keep up the good mapping!

Hi! It's great that you're mapping lots of features out in the desert. There are a lot of things out there that still need to be mapped. But when you're mapping in Wilderness areas, please add access conditions so that routers don't direct vehicles into these areas. I like disused:highway=track + highway=path + bicycle=no, but you could also use highway=track + motor_vehicle=no + bicycle= no for cases like this.

Judging from the changeset, you're asking about Swansea Grade? If so, I wouldn't try that without a high-clearance 4WD vehicle. The Cerro Gordo Road from Keeler is more civilized. But it's been washed out and rebuilt a couple of times since I last saw it. Used to be a 2WD vehicle could make it up that way, but I don't know what the current conditions are like.

I'm glad you figured out what happened!

Looks like something went wrong with addr:city and addr:state for node/5668621306. I see this is a pretty big changeset, but maybe you want to make sure all the other imported data was good?

Hi! Please make sure you've got the right golf course in the right state before you add the address information. Thanks!

Hi! This update was a follow up to a project to add missing named summits in Alaska using GNIS data using automation to speed up manual review. See osm.wiki/User:B1tw153/recoGNISer. But GNIS data isn't always right. In this case, I was able to identify a more likely location for the summit from the description and 3DEP data and USGS agreed with the correction I proposed.

Nice work on reopening the road! If you happen to have the geometry for the detour and information about the speed and weight restrictions, you might add that.

Could I ask for the reference you used to change this name back to Squaw Valley? Because when I check USPS, they have it as Yokuts Valley and they're only permitting the old name to be used for the transition to the new name.
