This particular segment of the highway has recently been upgraded to a controlled-access expressway just like Uriah Butler Highway, with further upgrades along other sections in the future: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Churchill%E2%80%93Roosevelt_Highway#Planned_extensions_and_upgrades While these upgrades aren't apparent in any of the imagery choices, the upgrades should be sufficiently indicated with the highway ramps along it that were added by me as well as other uses in the past. |

| 130390041 | about 3 years ago | Well, a place along a major travel corridor like an Interstate will always receive far more attention than one along a rural state highway, that can't really be dictating factor for a its classification. Place classification is almost always population-based, but if the population is low (under 10k typically) the place is either considered a city for its regional importance (as seen in Nevada, Wyoming, Alaska, etc.) or is downgraded to a town if it's overshadowed by other nearby places. |
| 130390041 | about 3 years ago | It is discouraged to tag things simply to have them render a certain way on the map (osm.wiki/Tagging_for_the_renderer This page documents more extreme cases, over-tagging things like populated places, roads, and waterways are far more common). Places should be classified as cities based on their population or their importance in relation to similar/nearby places regardless of what zoom level they render at or their legal classifications. In my opinion Delta might be fine as a city as it's the larger of the bunch, but the other two a still just small towns without a whole lot going on. I think that places like Price and Tooele are better fits for city classification. |
| 130390041 | about 3 years ago | Ely was upgraded along with a handful of other rural communities in Nevada due to their locations. Ely is the most important city in the area as it has the highest population among places like Eureka and Austin and is a 3+ hours from any other city of a similar or larger size. Places like Beaver, though, are no less than 45-60 minutes away from much larger cities like Cedar City. I think if these places were larger that would warrant city classification, but consodering their small size and lack of prominence, that might make them good fits for town classification, but this might be something for the locals of the state to decide on. |

| 129690514 | about 3 years ago | On another related note, it appears some freeway ramps were changed from motorway links to trunk links despite connecting to motorways: I'm assuming these were just some errors that had to do with retagging relations and not intentional, right? Ramps that connect to freeways whether they lead to or from them should always be tagged as motorway links, Might want to have a look at that. |
| 129690514 | about 3 years ago | The sections of motorway that were downgraded to trunk in the changesets you made are designated as freeways by the state. There are signs that say "Begin/End freeway" depending on the direct you are heading, at, for instance, Wagner Road (however the definition of a freeway in the real world and motorway on OSM overlap but don't usually mean the same things, so it's no big deal really). Many states allow cycling on Interstate highways, U.S. routes with freeway segments, and other various freeways. States like Wyoming, South Dakota, and Idaho fully allow it, Missouri and DC discourage it but it's not prohibited, and states like California allow it if there is not a more-suitable alternative available, such as lower speed roads or bike trails (in this case, bikes are allowed on the freeway because it lacks a better alternative such as a frontage road until the highway passes through Boron or Barstow). Something like designated cycle lanes, sidewalks, or roadside parking spaces, would be enough to determine whether a road is a freeway or not, but a law that isn't physically apparent shouldn't. |

| 129879791 | about 3 years ago | In the US on OSM, there are many roads like airport or seaport access roads classified as primary, but my main reason for upgrading this to primary is so that the Columbia Aiport Expressway that I also changed to primary won't just be primary stub and a route to loop back to itself (the route most traffic taking the expressway will use anyway). |

I was looking to see if there were some sort of tags to add to the stop sign to specify that it only applies for when the crossing is being used, but left it as is since that appeared to be the closest thing that I knew of. That sign you linked appears to be correct for this node instead of the stop sign. |

However, it appears that you've added parks on top of other parks, such as with Accotink Stream Valley Park (way/1105666194) and Lake Accotink Park (way/1104420830). You may want to check some of these landuse additions and remove the duplicate park layers as it seems like some nature reserve boundaries, such as those for Accotink Stream Valley Park, are having trouble rendering. |

By all means correct me if this is false, but I want to make a guess that this was intentional and you wanted to make it easier to get between the two golf courses in the area in a golfing simulator or something along the lines of that, since it seems like an odd error make. If this is true, please do not do this, as, like I had previously said, it's disruptive to people who use OpenStreetMap in real life. Edits that may improve simulator gameplay that are also useful for real life navigation or map detailing are welcome, but edits like these are damaging. |
