Sealed up in 1957 there is a Norman Crypt beneath this Church. One entrance was blocked to enable reinforcements to the tower. One entrance was blocked up to allow for the installation of central heating pipes. An entrance in front of the church was bricked up to allow the installation of electrical gear controlling lighting of the outside of the church. The gear was later removed and the opening was newly bricked up again.
