Hey Gerald, mijn op OSM gebaseerde navigatie liet mij een paar maanden geleden bij Keulen in de steek. Het bleek dat een Duitser een -in mijn ogen- wat bijzondere manier van mappen van afritten op na hield. Na enige discussie op het Duitse forum is daar toen een standaard manier van taggen van afritten uit gekomen. Dus in de buurt van Duitsland geef ik die verwijzing naar het Keulen-Zuid maar aan als standaard, voordat het weer eens op een bepaalde manier wordt aangepast. Gr Johan

Ha SI. Op het forum hebben we een discussie gevoerd in hoeverre een turborotonde, als het even kan, simpel uitgevoerd kan worden. Daar is uitgekomen dat er toch wel een (lichte) voorkeur was om te proberen deze turborotondes zo simpel mogelijk uit te voeren. Heb je er een probleem mee als ik deze beide rotondes weer maak tot wat ze waren: een simpel rondje?

ik kwam hier toevallig afgelopen zaterdag langs, en mijn OSM navigatie signaleerde itt de bebording geen rotonde. Ik heb de junction=roundabout tag er dus weer (cfm bebording) aan toegevoegd. JOSM vindt mijn edits suspicious. Keepright zal dat ook hebben, maar in het buitenland waar zowel JOSM als Keepright onderhouden worden hebben ze ook nog nooit van een kluifrotonde gehoord.

Hoi IIVQ. Als ik kijk naar recente (5 dagen geleden) Mapillary beelden, in combinatie met de luchtfoto's van het tweede kwartaal van vorig jaar, dan kom ik het door jou ingetekende fietspad over het viaduct niet tegen. Op basis waarvan heb je dat ingetekend?

Hoi, ik zag dat je mijn wijziging voor deze splitsing weer ongedaan had gemaakt. Wat is precies de reden daarvoor? Zoals je weet mag je een doorgetrokken streep (en hier is zelfs sprake van een dubbele doorgetrokken streep) namelijk niet overschrijden met je auto.

And one other thing: I think it's a pity that the motorways in Germany are being mapped so incosistently now. I have checked about 20 of them throughout Germany (eg Berlin, Munich), and they all have the motorway_junction node on or just before the legal point of exit. My German is not so good, but it might help if one of you starts a discussion on the German forum about this.

I have experience with TomTom, Navigon, Google Maps and Garmin. They all use the legal motorway_junction point for their routing. So I don't think my example is hypothetical, but standard practice for PND's.

Agree. Now suppose, in the same example (your PND tells you to take the exit in 600 meters), that it's not legally allowed to switch from e.g. the leftmost lane you are driving on to the exit lane because of a continuous white line which is 800 metres long?

Let's assume that the PND tells you to take the exit to Köln in 600 meters. What does that mean to you as a cardriver?

Compliments for this one. It has the necessary tags for a router. Plus the motorway_junction node has remained at the correct spot for a router.

Question for this change of the motorway_junction node. You tag everything for a router in a navigation device like OSMAND. For example turn:lanes, destinations etc. That's very good, because it helps a cardriver getting the relevant information. But that router (and thus the cardriver) also needs to know the legal point to leave the exit in time, because it shows the remaining distance to the exit. In what way would a router know the correct legal location to get off the exit, using the tagging you used here?

That's the correct text: 'where a driver can legally exit'. It's not legally allowed (nowhere in Europe as far as I know) to cross a solid line.
