Mountain Gatehouse (山門)
- Grade 1 Historic Building
- The main entrance to the monastery which was built in 1918
- A stretch of a long wall
with a one-hall rectangular building in the middle, hanging above the recessed entrance is an eye-catching white name plaque inscribed with four characters Tsing Shan Shim Yuan (青山禪院, literally meaning green mountain meditation
cloister) painted green. Below the plaque are a pair of couplets and a pair of stone guardian lions in front of it. The gatehouse is constructed of grey brickwork with plastered finishes painted yellow. Timber purlins and load-bearing walls support its pitched roof. Two concrete benches are on the left and right of the house for visitors’ rest. Its ridge is decorated with mouldings of Sanskrit (梵文) characters and geometric patterns.

"Heung Hoi Ming Shan" Pai-lau (香海名山牌樓)

- The “Heung Hoi Ming Shan” pai-lau was built in 1929 on the motor road leading to the monastery. It is a symmetrical three-bay four-column structure with a wider central bay to allow access for vehicles and devotees. It is built of reinforced concrete with washed granolithic finishes. Three horizontal flat
plaques rest on the beams and a roof is supported by the two middle columns.
- At the front elevation, the middle plague is engraved with four gilded characters Heung Hoi Ming Shan (香海名山, literally meaning fragrant sea and prestigious mountain) written by the then Governor Sir Cecil Clementi (金文泰) who had
visited the monastery in 1927 and 1928. At the back is another four characters, Wui Tau Shi Nong (回頭是岸, literally meaning repentance is salvation), written by Master Tit Shim (鐵禪法師). Inscriptions are also on the other plaques and columns. The roof is with green glazed pan-and-roll ceramic tiles. The ridge
is with Shiwan (石灣) glazed ceramic decorations of two dragon fish locally known as aoyu (鰲魚), opera figurines and geometric pattern made by the Guangzhenxiang (廣禎祥) kiln was selected by Wah Chun (華珍) company in Hong
Kong.

Yup Hiu Pavilion(挹曉亭)
- In the 7th lunar month of 1922, Sir Robert Ho Tung and Lady Clara Ho Tung went hiking at Castle Peak and felt exhausted when they were not even halfway to the top. Sir Robert decided to build a pavilion where hikers could take a rest. Yup Hui Pavillion, equipped with a stone table and benches, was completed in 1932. Later, a tablet depicting the history of building the pavilion was erected by Master Hin Ki and Master Sau Yu. However, the original rock tablet is missing and a new one has been erected to the replace it.
