Cities in Belarus are very often spelt in the way it is not longer used. The Roman alphabet transliteration of Belarusian geographical names was approved by Resolution X/6 of the Tenth United Nations Conference on the Standardization of Geographical Names (2012). Hence, Viciebsk is the right and official spelling. I have a list of all the cities in Belarus which I can share. |
