This water shows up in the "Esri World Imagery (Clarity) Beta" imagery available in JOSM, but not in "Bing aerial imagery". I suspect that the latter is likely the latter imagery. Check to see whether this area of water still exists.

In the aerial imagery this looks like it could be a cycle or foot path?
