Hi,

the track (and others close by):
way/496451623

was tagged with "access=private" shouldn't it be "vehicle=forestry"?

Hi, people in the German forum are wondering about the German name of the following node (name:de=Brueckel) node/5460545204

Can you provide a source for that name?

See the discussion here:

I hope I did not guess wrong, but you seem to be a user from Germany, that's way I opened a discussion here:

Hi, to my opinion this is a mass edit to bend a github discussion on rendering castles in a certain direction.

This edit should be reverted.

Hi, could you please clarify your intentions according to this changeset? Greetings from Austria!

Hi, thanks for your reply. I was referring to the single island with the way id: 573387988 this single island (only this specific case) was completely covered by water and contradicts this section in the wiki:
natural=coastline#Where_is_the_coastline.3F

It wasn't my intention to say you shouldn't map islands at all, but it is possible, that for the specific case mentioned, your tagging is wrong.

I found two errors you really should avoid (before continuing mapping islands):
o Draw the ways so that the land is on the left side.
o Avoid self-intersections.

Maybe you can solve the direction problem, by drawing the lines as if you were walking around the island so that the land _always_ is on your left side. After placing the first node think of sitting right at the place were you put the node and look to the direction, so that the land is on the left side and the sea is on the right side. Start "walking" to that direction and place the next nodes.

I only know Josm, so I can't help you with Potlatch. In Josm the direction of the way only is displayed after selecting the way. Maybe it is the same with Potlatch.

Another question, are you sure, that this "island" should be mapped? way id: 573387988, it probably contradicts the wiki (link above).

Hi, your are creating a reasonable number of "coastline errors", they have quite an impact on rendering wide areas of the map!

Have a look here:

Hallo, dieser (und moeglicherweise andere) Changesets von Dir werden derzeit im oesterreichischen Forum diskutiert.

Ein lokaler User hat vor Deinen Edits bereits Adressen eingetragen, wodurch jetzt vieles doppelt ist.

Lg, Gppes

This changeset of yours (and maybe others) caused duplicate addresses on buildings which already have been mapped by a local user.

That's why we currently have a discussion about your edits in the Austrian forum:

Hallo, ich finde die Grenzen rein technisch gesehen auch suboptimal, ich verstehe zum Beispiel nicht, dass diese den Serpentinen der B115 folgen muessen... ;-)

Ich habe eine technische Frage im deutschen Forum gepostet:
https://forum.openstreetmap.org/viewtopic.php?pid=689860#p689860

The whole thing looks like this here:

57203347 almost 8 years ago

Honestly, I don't know much about the Alpen, I just fixed an area error shown on geofabrik: http://tools.geofabrik.de/osmi/

But please have a look here:
https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ennstaler_Alpen

The straight line through Eisenerz looks funny though. Other parts of these borders also have issues to my opinion (like using roads, ...) Still, sorry, I neither have the will nor the idea how to improve that.

Anyway, your deletion won't fix the problems we are talking about. So why not just keeping that curious straight line?

57203347 almost 8 years ago

Hi, I restored the line you deleted, thinking it had no purpose, by reverting your changeset. It actually was a member of two relations. Lg, Gppes
