| 133908906 | almost 3 years ago | Same comment as the other edit - if the roads are privately maintained then the appropriate tag would be to use operator=*.
|
| 133908998 | almost 3 years ago | access=private means that routers won't send traffic down these roads. Even guests of the people living on the road. If the road is privately owned, you can add a tag operator=* to describe who maintains the road. Let me know if you need help with this.

| 133452570 | almost 3 years ago | I haven't had a chance to drive up there to see what is currently posted although I do plan to head up there. Private to me means that it is privately maintained. If the road is posted as no trespassing or something similar then I agree that it should be access=private. |

| 133712317 | almost 3 years ago | #TIP: square bldg by selecting the outline then just type a "q". If a building holds more than one business, draw an outline of the building then just add a node for each business.

| 133681061 | almost 3 years ago | #TIP: If the boundaries of the parking lot can be seen, it nice to add an area showing the parking lot.

| 133606682 | almost 3 years ago | I was probably on top because everyone else took the day off! Check out https://www.cnn.com/2023/02/01/us/washington-hinman-glacier-disappear-climate/index.html |
| 133606682 | almost 3 years ago | On smaller glaciers I'm using the JOSM magic wand plugin. On larger glaciers, Like Borealis, I'm using a combination of the magic wand and manual edits to update. I was hoping to have Skagit County done by Tuesday evening for the PSQGIS monthly meeting. https://www.meetup.com/puget-sound-qgis-users-group/events/290856393/ But there are still 70 some glaciers that need review. BTW - I reached out to David Shean for help mapping glaciers. Did you see him in the news recently? Note - NAIP imagery is being used. While Bing's is newer it was taken earlier in the year which shows more snow cover. |
| 133542742 | almost 3 years ago | #TIPS: square buildings by selecting the outline then just type a "q". Also the current imagery suggests that this is one building. I'd recommend drawing it as a single building but with three nodes with the address. You can also change the tag building tag to building=apartments - assuming that is what they are.

| 133538220 | almost 3 years ago | As I understand, the land is owned by Bainbridge Island Park and Rec. It's unlikely that it would be logged which is what landuse=forest implies. natural=wood is safe because it only describes what is on the land which could include logging. Can you review this edit? | 133430985 | almost 3 years ago | I reverted this edit. This is not a park. |
| 133390123 | almost 3 years ago | I'm guessing this is actually a detention pond. They are tagged as landuse=basin + basin=detention.

|
| 133379148 | almost 3 years ago | #TIP: no need for the tag access=private on driveways since they are considered private anyway. I do recommending adding access=private when the driveway is either marked as such or has a gate.
|
| 133452570 | almost 3 years ago | I'm seeing mappers delete driveways or mark them private when they have no markings or gates. The accepted practice in the US is that driveways are private but should only be tagged with access=private if they are marked or have a gate. Looking at street level imagery also doesn't show any signs indicating that coons road should be marked as private. additionally there are power lines that can be accessed via coons road. |
| 133397476 | almost 3 years ago | Thanks - they look much nicer. |
| 133452570 | almost 3 years ago | Why did you add access=no and service=driveway to Coons Road? As well as change the existing unname service road into a driveway? I live in this area and neither are correct.
