Please don't go around blindly updating brands by just pressing a button in iD - there are no Lloyds Bank branches in Scotland.

Well railway platforms in OSM are tagged with a ref so data consumers and renderers can use that combination to display "Platform x" on the map if they wish.
Just like how we don't tag names on a motorway in OSM yet the map shows M8 for example.

This has been reverted. The platforms do not have names.

Think the %age is just because nobody has updated it since it was added to the wiki over 10 years, not the distance in Scotland - many others are complete but not 100% on the wiki.
Question is a) does the route need to be split into two relations at the border (imo no) and b) if so, should the super relation be national or regional?

The national/regional distinction is based on whether the relation is recognised as a E+W National Trail, or one of Scotland's Great Trails (which it is) so it seems strange for it to change at the border. osm.wiki/Long-distance_footpaths_in_the_United_Kingdom

Hmm, the SR was probably national because the Scottish part is national, maybe it should be two separate relations (without an SR) for either side of the border?
