almost 9 years ago | Thank you :D! And cheers to you, too :).
almost 9 years ago | Strathcona County OC 761 95 1996 No9, date of issue: December 6th, 1995 (YMD: 1995/12/06); approved January 1st, 1996; (YMD: 1996/01/01); Schedule 1: "Special Provisions for the Organization and Operation of Strathcona County”; section "Urban Service Area": "4(1) Notwithstanding subsection (3), the Rural Service Area shall be recognized as equivalent to a municipal district by the Government of Alberta for the purposes of program delivery and grant eligibility, including, without limiting the generality of the foregoing, funding programs and grant eligibility under enactments affecting roads, including secondary roads.". "(2) Strathcona County shall provide to the Government of Alberta any information required to administer programs or to determine the amount of grants which the Rural Service Area would be eligible for if it were a municipal district.". "(3) For the purposes of enactments affecting roads, culverts, ditches, drains and highways (excepting highways designated as primary highways under the Public Highways Development Act as of the effective date of this order) within the Rural Service Area, the Rural Service Area is deemed to be a city.". | 44615800 | almost 9 years ago | Sorry, another mistake :D: As Debre Berhan is at more than 90% Amharic speakers, there may be no reason to add the Latin script to it, especially if the name is in English, and not Tigrinya, Oromo, Gurage, or Argobba.
almost 9 years ago | Sorry: As Debre Berhan is at more than 94% Amharic speakers, there may be no reason to add the Latin script to it, especially if the name is in English, and not Tigrinya, Oromo, Gurage, or Argobba.
almost 9 years ago | As Gondar is at more than 94% Amharic speakers, there may be no reason to add the Latin script to it, especially if the name is in English, and not Tigrinya, Oromo, Gurage, or Argobba.
almost 9 years ago | As Gondar is at more than 94% Amharic speakers, there may be no reason to add the Latin script to it, especially if the name is in English, and not Oromo, Sidamo, or Qemant. But there are more Tigrinya speakers there than there are speakers of Oromo, Sidamo, or Qemant.
almost 9 years ago | If not, maybe we can add Amharic / Oromo name instead of Amharic / English?
| 44678471 | almost 9 years ago | "The name=* tag should only have one name in it.". "Which part of pnorman's comments on changeset/40333070 did you not understand?".
Comment from EzekielT 4 months ago: "That was a country name, not a city!". Comment from SomeoneElse 4 months ago: "It's the same issue though - you're choosing to shove together two different languages into one name field. The earlier changeset discussion comment says " The name=* tag should only have one name in it.".". That would apply here? |
almost 9 years ago |
almost 9 years ago | The Latin script is not always the same, for place names - in German, Münich is Munich, but both English and German are in the Latin script. So the same could be with Oromo and English (for example, Adama is "Adaamaa" in Oromo). Thanks, Ezekiel.
almost 9 years ago | You are adding Latin script to over 90% Amharic-speaking cities. Please add Oromo, instead of English.
almost 9 years ago | "Shashamane" is in English, not Oromo - Shashemene is the name in Oromo.
almost 9 years ago | Meneharia isn't a locality - a locality is a non-populated place.
almost 9 years ago | Palolo, is "Hawassa" in English or Sidamo? If it isn't in Sidamo, or Oromo, maybe it should be left out?
about 9 years ago | I think it may wreck ancient OSM heritage, in fact. They're the first nodes in the database; they're all very special :)!
about 9 years ago | "Wieso?". See changeset/44081278. "Somewhere I read about buggy software which erroneously uses low IDs for internal reasons. In order to prevent problems related to this, I tried to remove as many low IDs as possible.". Maybe exclude node 1? It is extraordinarily special on OSM.
about 9 years ago | Retournez node 1 (trés spécial!)?
about 9 years ago | Deutsch: Vielleicht sollten Sie Knoten 1 zurückgeben? Knoten 1 ist etwas ganz besonderes: D! Français: Peut-être que vous devez retourner le nœud 1 ? Nœud 1 est très spécial :D!
about 9 years ago | Perhaps you should bring back the node 1. It is very special :D!
