hm. there is some minimal speed data on the mapgen wiki page. speed heavily depends on pre- and post-processing (osmosis; inkscape) and the number of rules. let's say if you choose your dataset right and have a good computer you should be done in a minute or two. might be faster, might be slower.
Mapweaver loads all data into memory so planets and big countries might not be a good idea. depending on the size of the mapped data and your memory of course.
Mapweaver is for smaller areas and primarily for printable maps. Or let's say maps in one piece - no tiles.
There is always the option of preporcessing the planet with osmosis and then use the data in Mapweaver.

they will guide you to problems in the data that affect correct routing:
- nearly connected ways
- crossings without node
- motorways with wrong directions

die Mapnik Ansichgt wird einmal die Woche Mittwoch aktualisiert, die OSMARENDER Ansicht wird dynamisch verteilt gerechnet und sollte Ergebnisse innerhalb von Stunden bis max. Tagen zeigen.

You can upload "traces" here. osm.org/traces No need to tag them. Someone can take them and draw ways.

You can show traces when editing in potlatch for instance.

Das 60cx sollte den USB Modus oder wie aus immer der heißt beherrschen. Heißt: Erstelle auf dem Laufwerk des GPS (Explorer) ein Verzeichnis namens garmin und kopiere eine Datei namens gmapsupp.img (siehe erster link) dorthin. Fertig.

Falls das 60cx eine SD Karte hat, kannst du das auch alles am PC machen und die Karte dann einstecken.

Eine weitere Möglichkeit ist das Programm sendmap, das auch einzelne oder mehrere Kacheln direkt an das GPS senden kann.

the maps are not instantly refreshed (rendered). For mapnik you have to wait until about wednesday and Osmarender should show the changes within hours, at most a few days. If you want instant results check out KOSMOS. See Wiki.

the map is not routable. the garmin probably tries to find a road on the basemap but can't find one. as i understand it routable selfmade maps are in experimental stadium right now... Gary68
