First of all I would like to thank you for qa.poole.ch: it’s really quite useful! I already noticed the fact that all the housenumbers “on” the building were rightly identified.

I just wanted to signal another possibility for the housenumber localization; maybe you’ll find it interesting. Sometimes the housenumber is on the fence that surrounds the building.

Take for example this building: way/33381972 It is a school. Apparently no housenumber.

Yet the school is surrounded by a fence: way/39419103

The node/443720945 is part of the fence and shows the housenumber.

The solution you propose is obviously the “perfect one”. The only problem with it is that you have to know the internal structure of the building. I can walk on the streets and take note of the housenumbers, of the shops and their names,…. mapping also the internal walls is too much for me.

So I was trying to find a “second best” solution. I was looking for suggestion on it.

Lo primero es comprender de quien sonos los datos. Tu creaste el mapa? Si es asì tienes el derecho de subir los datos en OpenStreetMap. Si no es asì tienes que tener mucho quidado. Puedes subir el mapa solo si la licencia lo permite. Aquì enquentras la licencia de la mapa de OpenStreetMap: osm.org/copyright Al final habla de quien sube mapas sin tener el derecho

Secundo: la comunidad. Los mapeadores de tus cercanias, de tu Pais. Lees aquì: osm.wiki/WikiProject_Colombia Quizas encontraras alguien que pueda aconsejarte, y decirte si algo similar ya fue hecho. Aun mas, sobredoto si el mapa que quieres subir es ancho, es bueno decirlo antes y entender como no destruir el trabajo hecho da otros.

Tercero: bueno, y como lo haces? De veras no lo se! Pero si miras sobre el wiki puedes encontrar info utiles. En unos minutos encontre:

que hicieron algo similar y dan muchos detalles y tambiel los programas que desarrollaron

It seems that I did not explain clearly my issue.

About the first suggestion: Map the amenity as an area, ie the building outline (assuming it fills the whole building)

The amenity does NOT fill the whole building. If you follow the link you will find a building which has several things at the ground floor: a bank, the entrance to the flats at upper floors, other shops/amenities. This is quite a typical situation.

The other part: If it has a range of housenumbers, you could tag that, eg addr:housenumber=5,7,9 etc…

I understand that you propose to tag the area like this. This way the exact position of each housenumber is lost, This can be important: think that the bank of the example span over three sides of the buildin, so to know the exact position can be useful and also divverent houesnumbers can belong to different streets.

About the second suggestion: Building entrances can be tagged with the entrance tag.

Yes. I cited it and used it. But thank you anyway. And more, I don’t know if it’s correct to talk about “building entrances”. For me the building entrances are the entrances to the flats at the upper floors, the others are the shops entrances

Dear Popcorn Developers, I was looking with interest at the preview of Popcorn Maker.

I realized that you use the map tiles created by Stamen Design.

When Popcorn Maker shows a map, the map shows on the lower left the Google logo, and on the lower right a link to the Google maps terms and conditions. This is true also when the map shown is a Stamen map

The Stamen Design website (http://maps.stamen.com) under the section “How to Use These Tiles Elsewhere” states that:

These maps are available free of charge. If you use the tiles we host here, please use this attribution: Map tiles by Stamen Design, under CC BY 3.0. Data by OpenStreetMap, under CC BY SA.

I think that Popcorn Maker should provide the right attibution for the map tiles and the map data

Stai violando i diritti d'autore di chi ha creato e/o possiede le mappe!!!

Tu puoi:
* usare le IMMAGINI AEREE del Portale Cartografico Nazionale per "ricalcare" le vie e altro
* usare le IMMAGINI AEREE di BING per "ricalcare" le vie e altro

NON puoi:
* usare le MAPPE di Google per copiare i nomi delle vie e altro
* usare le MAPPE di Bing per copiare i nomi delle vie e altro

in generale alcune immagini aeree (foto da aereo o da satellite) sono state concesse a determinate condizioni o, molto più raramente, regalate (mi sembra nel caso dell'emergenza di Haiti sia stato fatto...).

Le mappe non possono essere MAI copiate a meno che non siano esplicitamente esenti da diritti d'autore. Anche perché se qualcuno regala una mappa, in genere regala i dati e l'importazione di questi avviene in maniera più o meno automatizzata.

Would it be possible to create a tool to communicate in a sort of official way that something has been added to the map?
For example I've added an hotel and they weren't on Google maps. It's clear that a mail with "look! There's a map in which your customer can locate your hotel" would have been interesting

Luca di dice di fare attenzione perché c'è la possibilità che le foto di Bing siano spostate o ruotate rispetto alla posizione degli oggetti originali, ovvero che abbiano un offset.
Per verificarlo ti consiglia di confrontarle con le foto del PCN, il cui posizionamento dovrebbe essere più accurato. Per sapere del PCN:

La linea verde che ho visto era molto più simile alla strada sopraelevata Aldo Moro piuttosto che alle sottili isocline che evidenziano l'altitudine.

Avevo già notato che non c'è più ma avevo scordato di commentarlo. Sospetto di aver visto qualche errore poi corretto. comunque grazie per l'aiuto!
