North Downs Way
(gets quite complicated and easy to miss round here

Walking along the NDW here, looking over the fence to the South, there is an amazing quite deep wooded valley, with an unmade track running down the middle. Alongside the NDW near the (locked) gate, and about half way down there is a substantial partially cleared bank with a wooden bench right near the edge. On one of my visits there was a young woman sitting on it. I was tempted to call out, but she was obviously deep in thought so I left her in peace.
I have no idea what the place is called, or who owns it.

This used to be part of the North Downs way, but was abandoned when Jade's Crossing bridge was built, and the route taken there instead of a very dangerous road crossing here.
The path is still public right of way, and last time I was there, two NDW markers were still in place!

Paved footpath (was once a road) from here to the tip of Cherbourg Crescent

Massive manure heap blocking this, been building up over several years. It's possible to get round both sides. Been reported, but no action taken.

There is a footpath here between East Street and Sturla Road - It's about 100 years old by now :)
