Reverting my previous edit – reverting the areas back to "marsh" from "tidal flat." Not sure as to what the best tags for these areas in Jamaica Bay are.

Perhaps tidal flats are a better tag for these areas?

There were a few island/coast features in Jamaica Bay which were erroneously removed. According to hydrological and land surveys for the Borough of Queens and the City of New York, as well as on maps of Jamaica Bay, these areas are islands.
