Changeset When Comment

You must bear in mind I wasn't mapping the pavement as a cycleway. Just that an intended use case is for cyclists to dismount and get back on at the dropped kerb, hence use of the dismount tag.

+ minor road alignment, added some missing traffic calming, crossing way, shuffled some Lilford Avenue addresses across

This doesn't look like Liverpool Docks

+ added culverts and adjusted stream

And as such you must dismount in order to pass through (legally) on your way

117445573 almost 4 years ago

Dismount doesn't mean carry on being mounted on the bicycle. It's quite clearly legal to get back on and rejoin the carriageway, at least as far as signage is to be trusted

117445573 almost 4 years ago

uite literally says cyclists dismount, and then directs them to rejoin the road. That's the real world verifiable truth

Or, alternately, does the crossing cross the island or behind it? If so I'll redo it with the crossing over the island

Oh brand new island? If so I'll gladly revert this changeset

Legally you can cycle as far as the signs and that's all that matters. It doesn't matter what you would, should or are meant to do. Bicycle=no means it's illegal to cycle there which is incorrect. It's arguably not irrelevant information where the boundary is, as it's not alien to ride up to the limit, get off and walk the extra to the chippy.

I will go and photograph it IRL next time I'm out and link them

Not here in this instance, I'm just asking generally

116890732 almost 4 years ago

What about painted bicycle symbols? They seem to suggest it's legal

116890732 almost 4 years ago

But only on outer sides of either crossing?

116890620 almost 4 years ago

There is literally nothing to say you can't go from Carnaby Place along the pathway, onto the cycleway, then across the crossing headed for Tankersley Grove. I am mapping the LEGAL extent of where you can cycle. Which is something I thought you cared a lot about

116890732 almost 4 years ago

You can legally cycle between the crossings.

If you're gonna add bicycle=no just say it.
