Are the railway station way/1289497111 and platforms way/45480306 meant to occupy the same area and share the same nodes? Isn't the railway=station meant to be a node rather than a way?

It was quite confusing adding the platform to the Mernda line as it wasn't immediately obvious that there were two ways using the same nodes.
