Ringforts in Ireland, astonishing historical heritage

Yes, these are very interesting land features. Ringforts in Northern Europe, gords in Slavic countries… If you know of some, start mapping them!

I can see you started mapping the ringforts with just those tags: https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Tag:area=yes https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Tag:historic=yes

The more suitable tagging is: https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Tag:historic=archaeological_site https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Tag:site_type=fortification https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Tag:fortification_type=hill_fort

Just like this one :)

Paglat, Maguindanao BARMM, Philippines

You keep making meaningful notes and immediately marking them as “resolved”, without anyone doing any edits. What’s the point?

JOSM: Lasso deaktivieren

Address import in Lithuania

Polish OSM community has this map for the quality assurance of address points: http://v3.mrowka.org/adresy/

The yellow stars are for addresses without the associated named street in vicinity. The pink stars are for addresses without any road in vicinity.

Does Lithuanian community have a similar visualisation, apart from the videos above?

Mapowanie przystanków - bez dublowania miejscami zatrzymania

Jako nowicjusz mapowałem i stop_position, i platform, z jamniczym zapałem… Rezultat wychodził paskudny: zawiła struktura, trudna do edytowania, w dodatku coraz to inaczej interpretowana przez różne programy. Zwłaszcza w automatycznych diagramach linii każdy przystanek pojawiał się podwójnie… Teraz też stosuję minimalistyczne podejście, a swoje stare edycje poprawiam przy różnych okazjach.

House address mapping in Rákospalota

Good job! Looking forward to seeing your presentation.

Valley of the Elongated Heads.

Why do you guys always post OpenStreetMap URLs with “edit”? This would be simpler: osm.org/#map=18/-14.66903/-75.22582

Without having to click through this alert window “make sure your JOSM remote control is working” etc.

Announcing a new map for Curvature

How old are those tiles by Stamen Design? Because in my home town, they’re showing a blatant error that was once present in OpenStreetMap and in GeoNames, but has been fixed many years ago.

Map section

(It’s showing “Nysa Zamłynie” as a town on its own; actually Zamłynie is just a neighbourhood in Nysa)

Then maybe start detailing those “nice places” on OpenStreetMap? You’ve been posting to the diary since end of 2016, but haven’t made any contribution.

OSM Node Density – 2017

Could you please remove that fade-out-fade-in effect when switching layers? It only causes “change blindness”.
