Changeset When Comment
122044600 over 3 years ago

Says who? Where on this page is this information stated? Are you making stuff up just to scare me?

122044600 over 3 years ago

I am a dictionary. While I do contain words, I cannot read, so please don't even bother writing changeset comments.

Have you considered using JOSM? I think it might be off assistence to you and your important mapping of cultural heritage.

Hi,

Mfg

Hi,

The concept is quite simple: Whenever you upload your stored changes from not just maps.me but any editor, a changeset is created, which stores the changes you've made to the map.

That changeset has a "bounding box". An automatically calculated square, whose perimeter always includes your changes. So if you upload a single changeset changing things wildly far away, that will result in a big bounding box (bbox).

The reason people complain about these is that anyone checking the "History" tab on the OpenStreetMap main page whose view is within a changeset's bbox, the changeset will be shown, even if no changes from the set are nearby.

Don't worry though, there is no harm done or anything, it's just good manners.

The simplest solution to this is just uploading to OSM from your editor every time you change the locations of your edits.

Have fun mapping!

Please avoide these kind of big changeset bboxes.

Hi,

Bitte vermeide Änderungssätze mit solch übergroßen Flächen. Danke.

Hi,

Surely not intentional, but you messed stuff up a little at Rue Saint-Thomas Becket (way/997767689).

Please watch out more, doing mechanical edits like these.

Hi, Casper,

You seem to do some general high-quality armchair mapping here, achieving levels of quality, most other mappers cannot achieve.

Would you mind telling me, what kind of armchair you are using? Make and model? Date of purchase?
Other relevant information?

Thank you, have a good day.

Hi,

By removing the abbreviation from the name, which is in itself correct, you removed the use for name_1, which was the full name all along.

Please don't mindlessly correct others' work, even if it seems as simple as this.

Hi,

Thank you for adding this sand thing here. As you seem to have struggled greatly with this, I would like to remind you, you can, and should use multipolygon relations.

Apologies, that was not meant as an insult.

Hi.
