There is a quite easy ford here across the river, just rock slabs and water only about knee deep.

For some reason the name of this district town is shown here only in Sinhala script, not in Latin which is "Dambulla". The result is that on the maps based on this map the name is not stated at all which looks like as if this district town did not exist. 😉

So yes, this is not a bridge, but only some tubes going across the river, and there is no footpath going to it, impossible to cross there. I could ford the river a little upstream, see the note there...
