| 134382158 | over 2 years ago | Derrick, Your edits to move these nodes are not necessary and have the potential to cause confusion. For example, you've moved the Huntingdale suburb node outside of the suburb itself. Please refrain from moving around suburb nodes in this way. |
| 134369486 | over 2 years ago | Hello and thank you for contributing to OpenStreetMap! I noticed that you have added some buildings, but some of the outlines may not be completely accurate. Here are some tips to help you map buildings more precisely: - Use high-resolution satellite imagery if available to ensure the outlines are as accurate as possible. Take note of any distinct features that could help define the building's shape, such as the presence of balconies, awnings, or rooftop equipment. Bing has the highest resolution, but Maxar has been updated more recently. - To clean up your work after outlining, press Q to make sure all corners are at a clean angle. - Different buildings should be mapped separately, even if they appear connected by a roof extension, like a car port. Remember, accuracy is key when mapping buildings. Incorrectly mapped buildings can lead to problems for those who rely on OpenStreetMap data, such as emergency services, delivery drivers, and tourists. Please take the time to double-check your work and make any necessary adjustments to ensure the buildings are accurately mapped. Thank you for your contributions, and keep mapping! |
| 134370138 | over 2 years ago | Hey Razax,
The "living street" tag is generally reserved for streets in which pedestrians have right of way over cars. I don't believe that's the case here, so I've changed the street back to residential. Many thanks, Dian. |
| 134247058 | over 2 years ago | Hi Boulton, These estates and neighbourhoods are not suburbs, and shouldn't be mapped as such. They can be mapped as place=neighbourhood or on a landuse=residential as an estate name |
| 134164954 | over 2 years ago | Hello Moobies, Where has the name Tatton Drive come from? I cannot see it in any official sources.

| 133963682 | over 2 years ago | Thanks MapAbility, I can see what you've tried to here. I think it's fair to say collector=tertiary is a reasonable correlation, similarly freeway=motorway and highway=trunk. I think much of the more "questionable" tagging is the arterial/sub-arterial elements. It's hard to understand the reasoning behind some of the distinction between a arterial and subarterial, but some seem intuitively wrong? |
| 134121694 | over 2 years ago | Hello, The previous tagging appears to be correct. The electorate of Kew is a political boundary. Dian |
| 133963682 | over 2 years ago | Hey MapAbility, I'm a little concerned with some of these changes that you're making, as they generally seem to be inflating the status of many roads to secondary and primary. The tagging guidelines has a list of what each road category is for: osm.wiki/Australian_Tagging_Guidelines/Roads In particular, primary is listed as "Other cross-city routes and arterial roads." Many of these roads were (in my opinion) correctly tagged as secondary: " Major roads within a local area, often connecting neighbouring suburbs." It also is resulting in nearly no roads being tagged as tertiary: "Minor through roads and routes within a local area. Often act as feeders to residential streets and are managed by local councils." There a many roads that are less important than the roads feeding it, but now have the same tagging: (Earl Street and Chandler Highway, Kew; Moira Street and Malvern Road, Ashburton; Huntingdale Road and Ferntree Gully Road, Mount Waverley; Old Dandenong Road and Boundary Road, Dingley Village; Osborne Avenue and Bando Road, Springvale; and so on. I believe you're basing this off Vicroads/Vicmap Transport data? Those only have a Arterial/Major/Minor classification, which groups together roads that shouldn't be grouped together under the OSM tagging model. Respectfully,

| 133921306 | almost 3 years ago | Hi GMH, Thanks for your contributions to Melbourne, and welcome to OSM! A couple of things regarding your contributions: - Electorate boundaries should be mapped as boundary=political. The wiki has a good explanation why: boundary=political - We try to avoid deleting elements and recreating them, but instead modify existing elements. This is to keep the history osm.wiki/Keep_the_history I'd encourage you to keep mapping, and reach out if you have any questions. Dian |
| 133818207 | almost 3 years ago | Hi Jackc8, Thanks for your contribution to the Blackburn area. I've adjusted your change to the Station St/Williams Road/Whitehorse Road intersection to better reflect road geometry. Happy to discuss in more detail if you like, but keep editing :) |
| 133455124 | almost 3 years ago | No problem at all. For what it is worth, as a native Australian English speaker, I haven't heard "Dookie" used in the same way as it appears to be used in American English. |
| 133542965 | almost 3 years ago | Hi BigMoey, Thanks for your contribution to the local area in Epping. I see you've added Alsiraat College to the map; I'm not sure if you noticed that the school was already on the map? way/1132416340 I've moved some of the additional details you've provided into the area. Thanks again,

| 133455124 | almost 3 years ago | Hi VLD, Was going through recent changes in the area and saw this. What is your reasoning behind reverting this change as vandalism? Dian

| 133109616 | almost 3 years ago | Hey MapAbility, I'm not so sure it's a good idea to make a bunch of wholesale changes to the road classification based off of VicRoads data. 1) What is the source of the data that you are using. 2) Our classifications don't align with what VicRoads does; for example, there are now a disproportionate amount of secondary roads in the north east. Dian

| 133110921 | almost 3 years ago | Hi JPG, In this edit you've deleted the fairway areas for most of the golf course. I can't see a reason for you to have done that?

| 132293738 | almost 3 years ago | Ah; I see. I assume this is for the Moovit app? I had a look; the data on Moovit seems to be a few months old; the possibly only take an update of OSM data a few times a year. I’ve added some address nodes to the houses on Timbertop Court, and when Moovit updates it’s maps the “snapping” should work correctly. :) Dian

| 132295585 | almost 3 years ago | Hi Ragrum, Welcome to OpenStreetMap! You've traced and tagged these houses correctly and in line with OSM standards. Great job! Dian |
| 132293738 | almost 3 years ago | Hi Moovit, Again, I'm not sure what you're tring to do here. You've moved this node out to the footpath?
|
| 132100165 | almost 3 years ago | Hi, Thanks for your contributions to the area. You appear to have adjusted Timbertop Court far away from the road centreline. What are you using to get this alignment?
