Hi
landuse=grass in not required. It is for specific areas as indicated in the wikipage's first sentence:
landuse=grass

The landuse of golf features is 'golf' not grass.
To distinguish any differences the 'surface' tag should be used.

golf=* are a specific sport subset of leisure=pitch.
The tag to distinguish it's playing finish is 'surface'
leisure=pitch

Please don't assume a validator's *suggestion* is valid or correct.

I've flagged it as an error:

Hi
You're the second person to mention this software.
Are you using it? I don't know much about it. Is it just extracting golf data from OSM, or is it adding data & creating duplicates?

112523699 about 4 years ago

Hi
Welcome to OSM.
Is there a reason you created a new CFP relation & renamed the original to (b)?
OSM has a policy of 'One feature, one OSM element':
osm.wiki/One_feature,_one_OSM_element

Probably best if you transfer your recent additions over to the original relation.

OK. This is *NOT* how OSM works.
The database is implemented to a certain standard.
One of the accepted rules:
osm.wiki/One_feature,_one_OSM_element

All data users have to abide by the standards & work to them.
If there's a problem with *their* software then you need to contract them.
Please correct your errors.

No, there's conflicting items at each of the each of the markers in the OSMOSE link I sent.

Plus you've mapped this both as a driving range & a fairway:
way/893038683
way/893097825

Also check the buildings

I have a "big interest" in ensuring the quality of the OSM database.

Two bunkers, same tags, same location, overlaid, not the same id:
way/893097826
way/893038684

Could you please remove your duplicating data.

Hi
There is an error in iD's tagging & validation software, which I've flagged up:
https://github.com/openstreetmap/iD/issues/8748#issuecomment-940155347

At the moment it;'s a long winded process, but the defaults can be ignored by clicking a button.

I'm performing GB wide edits to correct all golf features.

Hi
It's disappointing how widespread this error by iD's developers has spread, & it will take a lot of effort to sort out.

Your English is much better than my French.

Hi
iD's validator is incorrect.
https://github.com/openstreetmap/iD/issues/8748#issuecomment-940155347

iD doesn't "automatically puts them back". It is a suggestion, which can, and should, be ignored.

Unsure what you mean in your second comment.

I didn't reverse your changeset, I swapped one tag for another. Any other edits remain.

97113115 about 4 years ago

No it's not. Unsure why you'd make such a claim.
Please remove duplicates.

Hi
You've added duplicate, overlaid golf features in Tewkesbury. Could you take a look & delete duplicates?

Click on a marker for an example:

Hi
I'm checking golf features.
http://osm.mapki.com/history/way.php?id=844062479

http://osm.mapki.com/history/way.php?id=844062480

Are these both bunkers & are they grass lined instead of sand?

Hi
I'm ahead of you.
https://github.com/openstreetmap/iD/issues/8748#issuecomment-940155347

To me, Issue #2013 just highlights that iDs developers misunderstood tagging usage, as landuse=grass has never been used for sport pitches. I believe it's always been a primary tag, not a sub/adjective tag as iD were using it.

I'll follow up tomorrow.

Please add your own comments if you wish.

Sadly this isn't iDs only validator suggestion which oversteps the mark.
