| 71184812 | over 6 years ago | They are major roads that used to be provincial highways. There is no rule that primary highways must be provincial, and following that convention leads to too few primary roads. If you revert these changes, I will revert them back. |
| 72217346 | over 6 years ago | I used Esri World Imagery. I think the area is obvious from source imagery - it looks industrial. If it were an import, it would have tell-tale signs, like excessive nodes or not sharing nodes with existing ways. I'm also not aware of a source for this sort of landuse data.

| 71233692 | over 6 years ago | I've done a bit of research, and it appears that this branch is a "TD Help & Advice Centre", not a "TD Canada Trust". I'm not sure if amenity=bank is actually appropriate here, since it doesn't offer all banking services.

| 71345469 | over 6 years ago | To solve this problem, this is what you need to do:
|
| 71345469 | over 6 years ago | 1)You are still using ArcGIS as a source, which is unacceptable for OSM. The email is not an acceptable source either, since it is not verifiable by others.
Since I apparently wasn't clear enough last time, let me repeat myself: I will view any further street name changes as a personal and deliberate insult. That also goes for address additions (that are based on data in ArcGIS, not Open Data Ottawa). |
| 71345469 | over 6 years ago | Other problems:
|
| 71345469 | over 6 years ago | One problem (not the only one) i that I asked you not to rename the roads, and you did so anyway. I view this as a deliberate insult, and would appreciate an apology. |
| 71345469 | over 6 years ago | Matt,
|
| 70640323 | over 6 years ago | I think we will have to agree to disagree. As usual, OSM discussion achieves nothing. |
| 70640323 | over 6 years ago | Yes I can. Some RBC signs say "RBC Financial Group" instead of just RBC, and some CIBC signs say "CIBC Banking Centre" instead of just CIBC. Restaurants also have abbreviated names (Kelsey's not Kelsey's Original Roadhouse). What I really care about is that the same name is used everywhere, and that the name matches the id preset. For Starbucks, that preset is "Starbucks" not "Starbucks Coffee" (although Coffee is part of the signage in Canada and parts of the US). |
| 70640323 | over 6 years ago | The "Coffee" is a description, not part of the name. Good work PelleB! |
| 70676734 | over 6 years ago | I used to favour separate areas for businesses, but it becomes a real mess, and it is much more time-consuming. So I generally just add points now, unless it is easy to separate the footprints based on aerial imagery. |
| 67300540 | over 6 years ago | I think I thought the station building was some sort of church or temple. I've deleted the area - thanks for pointing this out. |
| 70330952 | over 6 years ago | I agree, most rural roads should be unclassified. I will review highway=residential to make sure they should be that, and not highway=unclassified |
| 70330952 | over 6 years ago | I agree highway=unclassified is better. I have been using that in later changesets. |
| 62680270 | over 6 years ago | If you can't find the trail, feel free to delete it. Looking at my notes from that period, I may have interpreted a bushwhack as a trail. |
| 68187844 | almost 7 years ago | This is a great change. It is much better to have a different building tag for portables then for other school buildings.
|
| 67686901 | almost 7 years ago | I will also wait before making further imports, at least a week, and likely longer (until consensus is reached). |
| 67686901 | almost 7 years ago | To be clear, I am willing to further discuss importing - blocking me would be a severe over-reaction, and would be interpreted as a personal attack. |
| 67686901 | almost 7 years ago | There was a discussion, issues were raised, the problems (to the extent that they existed at all) have been addressed. I plan to continue importing, unless a *specific* valid issue is raised. Please do not contact me again unless you have such an issue. |
