What's more interesting, is that the scientist's surname, what this street is named after, is actually Ciolkovskis (Tsiolkovsky/Циолковский). And name in Russian does get it right - "улица Циолковского", not seeing much mentions of "улица Циалковского". So this note is not just about public transport stop names, but to point out to this inconsistency. Is it just a typo in Latvian naming, which propagated further, or deliberate ignoring of original surname spelling (or smth else)? |
