about 2 years ago | Hey Dave, please try to keep your edits productive. This kind of noise isn't and is possible to cause edit wars.
about 2 years ago | If you want to change the definition of the website tag to for any generic website related to the brand. I suggest you try to get consensus with local mappers and the global tagging community. You can reach them on mailing lists and the community forum.
about 2 years ago | Hey Dave, please try to use changeset comments. Have you done this in other edits?
| 144369452 | about 2 years ago | Hey Dave did you know you have deleted one in this?
What was your source for this? |
about 2 years ago | Hey Dave, please try to document the sources you've used so other mappers can validate and improve the data. As I'm sure you're aware you can so document sources on the changeset level or on the feature level. Have you forgotten to do this in other edits as well?
| 144447281 | about 2 years ago | I was showing friends how to edit with Go Map :)

about 2 years ago | But that isn't related to the individual object. You could add brand:website=https://www.poundland.co.uk/ but personally I don't think it's worth our time to add and maintain when it's available via Wikidata.
about 2 years ago | Nice, if you have a valid source for that, make the edit. Thank you. The date I added to them was the OSM last edited, with some kind of local knowledge (not blind tag changes from iD, not building changes from aerial imagery). That can sometimes be hard to tell from the object history. The idea is that OSM consumers and editors can be aware that the data is old. StreetComplete is a great example, it will ask the user to confirm it's still there/what has replaced it.
about 2 years ago | Hey, unfortunately iD doesn't remove tags when a business changes, so you have to do it manually. I've fixed this one in changeset/144377111#map=19/53.78471/-1.07010
about 2 years ago | That they are suspect. I couldn't find them on https://locations.99only.com/
about 2 years ago | It was an issue because a mapper felt strongly that there local shop had a different name to the rest. So I just avoid that drama. NSI and iD will normalise the name and category overtime, or now I've added `brand:wikidata` someone can do it easily.
about 2 years ago | I agree, and unifying the categories. But I've been told off for that before. :/
about 2 years ago | Thanks
about 2 years ago | Hey it looks like you've removed some details eg node/2624736613 https://www.dunnesstores.com/store-locator/stores/41 to http://www.dunnesstores.com/ http?! in 2022, and from a specific website for the POI to a generic brand website.
about 2 years ago | I don't know where I got the 600 number from, looking at the data again I see 114 Directly Managed Branches. https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/post_office_branch_list_and_open_3 (Converted to GeoJSON for your convenience https://gist.github.com/Cj-Malone/eeab2fa7fda44fb4465efe20d106f333) 5 of which are in NI, I didn't remove operator data from any them in this edit. Your overpass query doesn't take into account "contact:website" (Which I used to add, but don't any more). So it's actually only a small number without website or contact:website (most of which are probably errors with osm, not missing websites eg node/2964354669#map=19/54.64165/-5.53595) The bulk of my Post Office tagging is done. I still want to do more while the pol data is fresh (Add missing, re/move old, etc) but it's slower and probably wont be in NI as there isn't OS OpenMap Local to correlate.

about 2 years ago | Hey, Rel: changeset/143247316 My clip board doesn't always work at the moment (I think it's related to Wayland). I'll go through that list and check them, I intend to do https://osm.mathmos.net/postoffice/distant-matches.html as well Thanks for pointing this out
about 2 years ago | (Or user error, your choice)
about 2 years ago | Thank you, it look like my clip board let me down! Fixed in changeset/143602201
